    BB ($57.60)
    UTG ($50)
    Hero (MP) ($51.40)
    CO ($11.70)
    Button ($47.50)
    SB ($58.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J, A
1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 3 folds, BB calls $1.50

    River: ($27.25) 2 (2 players)
BB bets $5.50, Hero calls $5.50

    Total pot: $38.25 | Rake: $1.80

I've been trying this on the turn... I'm not sure how I feel about it...
    Villian is running 20/8.

    UTG ($52.10)
    UTG+1 ($56.20)
    MP1 ($54.55)
    MP2 ($31.55)
    CO ($50.30)
    Hero (Button) ($51.15)
    SB ($7)
    BB ($76.45)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, A
    2 folds, MP1 raises to $1.50, 2 folds, Hero calls $1.50, 2 folds

    Flop: ($3.75) A, K, 5 (2 players)
    MP1 bets $1, Hero calls $1

    Turn: ($5.75) 8 (2 players)
    MP1 bets $2, Hero raises to $6, MP1 calls $4

    River: ($17.75) K (2 players)
    MP1 bets $6, Hero folds

    Total pot: $17.75 | Rake: $0.85

I end up in these situations often, and I'm never quite sure how to play it preflop. Even if the hand is 99 or TT and I flop an overpair, I'm never sure what to do. This has always been a leak in my game, I feel.

    this.

I'm interested to hear your reasoning for raising badgers. About the best reason I can come up with is villains bet sizing is relatively small, but I don't see this as enough. I don't see too much in villains range that a raise will get value from.

    hand 1: fine

hand 2: I don't see anything wrong with raising the turn. It's a great play to take control. In this case, donk bet river and now we call.

    hand 3: fine

    Default 50nl AA

Should I just shove the flop?

Here is my thought process for only calling the shorty's shove. If i shove the flop, I'll push out hands that I beat, like 8x, 55-77, and maybe 99-TT... (right?) If the shorty somehow turns over a 4 after I shove, I'm screwed. That's why I want a side pot. By only calling here, I plan to shove over his turn bet (or raise/call shove etc). This way, I think I earn more value from hands that I beat.

    Is my thought process flawed?

well there aren't any draws to worry about so it's not like giving a free card is a problem. Usually if I want a side pot i'd minraise the shortie shove or something like that.

    LOL

I think it's a well played hand to be honest, great call on the flop by the way.

All of these hands are fine except for the AJ which should not be raised or folded at any point.

    Marry Me Cheryl!!!
In hand 1 i wanna shove the river - would do so with AQ as i know AJ isnt folding

meh with more thought I think a river minraise on hand two might be good if he just bets 3 streets small since I would expect it to be Ax soooo often but raising the turnis quite scary and probably bad.
