Default When to shove in turbo MTT after bubble

I just played a 10c turbo MTT at Pokerstars. I had 3350 left, and blinds were 400-800 with 75 ante. I realise I need to shove soon. Should I just push first chance I get, or wait and see if I pick up anything, and then shove on big blind if I didnt?

I ended up shoving with 79o from middle position, and got one caller with Q10s. 1875 in dead money. (probably the wrong move)

I don't think it was a bad play. M < 2, so you're on a tight deadline. At least w/79o you'll likely have live cards (unless you run into Ax or Kx where x=7 or 9). Can't fault ya for that shove. Though, I'm only marginally good hehe.

shove seems fine, it isn't likely but there is a chance you'll get folds especially in a .10 tourney where people may not understand pot odds. and you'll usually be live if called. Once your M (your stack divided by total chips in the pot pre flop from blinds and antes) is less than 3 that's about all you can ask for.

If you wait for the BB you're a small favorite to have a better hand than 97o but you won't have any fold equity and the situation may not be nearly as good - meaning anyone who raises the pot will have a better hand than they would have needed to call you here.

If you were UTG there would be such a good chance of you getting called that I'd probably wait and take the BB, although it's close and I would play like a 98s.

Well definately 7 9 os wasnt the cards to ppush in. I would probably have waited for a good cards til it got to me as big blind.

How did your M get quite this low. If it was a loss of chips on some hands thats ok, but did you get blinded down waiting for the bubble to end? If it was the latter you should look for places you could have shoved earlier with more chance of people folding. The bubble on a 10c turbo is probably not worth waiting for.
As for the hand I would probably have folded, If your M was higher maybe 7 or 8 I would have shoved with a reasonable chance of getting the table to fold. First into the pot would have been my main concern. Here you were going to get callers and had little chance against them. Generally i would push anything UTG with an M of 5. Here i might have even passed that and hoped for a treble up in the blinds.
