other guys here will have much more detailed info, but i can tell already way way too loose early, playing way too many hands especially in poor position.

    ^^ fulksy's post.

Didn't read the whole thing . . . a couple quick things I noticed: hand #8 is a huge leak. Fold that junk preflop (QJo), and cold-calling that preflop raise is horrible. You are not beating anything villain has. Short of catching a straight or two pair on the flop, what are you hoping to see?

Hand 17: just fold preflop, A9o is not a limping hand.

You did good by posting here, you'll get some good feedback. Have thick skin!

Thanks for the early advice guys. I'll try to be even tighter earlier, although while using PT3 my VP$IP is already astronomically lower than everyone else's early, although I guess I should expect that. What is the correct M to start playing looser, or does it depend more on the number of players at the table?
    Thanks again.
@Rocky, I'll do my best to have thick skin! haha

OK, I'm really glad you posted this because you have a lot of leaks in your game. Apologies in advance for being harsh, but I prefer to tell it like it is.

    1. KJo - just fold, or if you want to play, call and see if you can flop something nice. No point raising here, at a $1.10 tourney you're going to get called in multiple places with a marginal hand. Flop bet is OK I guess since the fact there are two aces on the flop reduces the chance that either of your opp has one, but I'd make it 150 or so since that will save you a few chips if you have to give up.

    2. K9s - wow, now this one is really spewing chips. Firstly, fold preflop, this hand just isn't worth it. As played, first prize is to fold the flop, second prize to just call and see what happens on the turn. Your donkminraise is completely pointless here - nobody will fold so you're just padding the pot with a hand that you've got no idea whether good or bad. Same goes for the turn, what are you hoping to achieve with this raise? Every time you make a bet or raise, you need to ask yourself what is the point of betting or raising. Do you want to a) bluff b) protect your hand or c) build a big pot because you have the nuts? Your donkminraises accomplish none of the above. The river shove is just complete spew, you're really really lucky that neither of them had a heart. Just check behind here 100% of the time (not that I would ever have gotten to this spot with this hand).

    3. 63s - You need to bet the flop MUCH MUCH harder with bottom two pair, a very vulnerable hand (because if the J or the turn and river pair you're often hosed). With 180 in the pot I would bet at least 200 and try to thin the field. The same goes for the turn, I would bet full pot and call a shove. River bet is just silly, what's the point of betting so small? You lost a lot of value with this hand.

    4. K9o - preflop call is OK but you're looking for two pair or better or a monster draw to continue. An OESD when you're OOP against four opps is not a monster draw? Flop is fine, but I check/call the turn again and probably check/fold the river unless the bet is very small.

    5. 72s - fold this shit preflop. Don't be a SOOTED FISH by playing any two SOOTED. INSTA fold the turn, you have no pair and no draw (ie. you have NADA) why call here? What are you hoping to hit on the river?

    6. Q8s - fold preflop. At least you didn't good money after bad by calling the raise.

    T K SB (M = 31.47; f+f+f+c+r+F) (between 6 and 7) - good fold

    7. T3s - fold preflop. As played I would check the flop and only put in more chips if I hit my draw although semi-bluffing isn't terrible.

    8. QJo - fold preflop, as played definitely do not call the raise. It is very very unlikely that you are ahead of anything that opp is raising here.

    9. 88 - I would shove preflop to try to take the 600 dead chips (1/3 of your stack) without a fight. Even if you're called, chances are the worst you'll be is flipping with lots of dead money in the pot to give you correct odds, and you may well get called by hands that you're way ahead of.

    10. K9s - fold preflop, it's not worth it

    11. AJo - good shove, I like it. Any time you have 10-13x BB or less and a decent hand, you should shove rather than raising less than all-in

    12. 97s - fold preflop for sure. If you get raised you have to fold, and you don't hit a flop you like nearly often enough to justify calling off almost 10% of your stack here.

    13. KJo - fold preflop for the reasons per 12. As played, lucky you - obviously it's fine. Take a look at the hands you were up against preflop, you were way way behind both opps.

    14. AKo - preflop raise is fine although you could make it 400. As played, what is the point of your donkminbet?!?!?!?! Have a think about how many chips are in the pot, what you bet and if you'll ever get a fold here (which is your best outcome since all you have on the flop is ace high). If you want to bet, bet at least 600 chips to give yourself some fold equity.

    Rest later
  6. #6
    16. 75s - easy fold preflop. As played, flop call is fine and checking it down is good.

    17. A9o - fold preflop the first time around.

    18. 88 - good, but you could also make it 500 since that does the same job as 600 IMO (ie. the same hands will fold, call or raise to the smaller bet than the bigger one and you'll save some chips if you need to fold later)

    19. A7o - fold preflop, I guess the turn call is OK but definitely check behind on the river.

    21. 22 - calling preflop is fine BUT you're playing for set value here (ie. no set on the flop = no bet/call). Your flop donkminbet is pointless, just check/fold and move on. Same with your turn bet and your river bet is just asking to lose chips.

    22. AJo - raise is good, but make it a little more, say 800 to go. As played, bet more on the flop. With 1700 in the pot I make it 1000 to go, don't give them a cheap card to hit their draw and beat you.

    23. 87o - fold preflop

    24. J9o - fold preflop, if you want to raise make a real raise of 500-600. Check the flop, that flop is very likely to have hit one or both of your opps and they won't ever fold any piece of that flop.

    25. K5o - no more donkminbetting please! Bet at least 2/3 pot on the flop, check the turn and check/call a small bet on the river.

    26. ATo - raise more preflop, 700 is good with the limper in front. As played, definitely bet more on the flop and turn. After opp calls both your bets, I check behind on the river.

    27. ATo - again, bet more on the flop. You are bluffing here so bet enough to give him a reason not to call! 700-800 would be fine here.

    28. 95o - just check behind on the flop, or bet 300 if you want to bet. Only hands that beat you will call your bet and hardly any hands that you beat will call.

    29. T7o - fold preflop, your stack is too short to play these rags. The flop bet is just spewing chips on that board with three opps seeing the flop, and BET MORE ON THE TURN after you make two pair, why did you bet less on the turn than on the flop? Just shove it right here. As played, river shove is fine, you're totally pot committed here.

Got cut off from Hand 30 onwards, if you post it I'll keep looking.

    General comments:

    1. You are way way way way way way way way way too loose preflop. If you want to see just how tight you need to play at a low buyin SNG, take a look in the FAQs at some sample hand histories.

    2. Position in poker is really really really really important. You need to play MUCH tighter when you are first to act either preflop or on the flop than if you are last to act. It is possible to write a book on this topic alone, so please ask specific questions if you have them.

    3. Once blinds hit 50/100, you should generally be looking to raise when you are first in the pot. Don't limp! If you don't feel comfortable raising your hand, then you should most probably fold.

    4. Your preflop raise sizing is really weird. If you are raising preflop, generally raise 4x BB at levels 1 and 2 (10/20 and 15/30 blinds), 3x BB up to 50/100 and 2.5x BB thereafter and add a BB to your raise for each limper in front.

    5. Postflop bet sizing is also strange. You should always be betting between 50 and 100% of the pot at any time, depending on a number of factors including how strong your hand is, how many players in the pot, your position, etc. If you raised preflop, miss the flop and want to make a continuation bet on the flop, there is no point betting less than you raised preflop!

    6. As I said in Hand 2, every time you bet or raise, you need to think about why you are betting or raising. Are you protecting your hand against possible draws? Betting because you want to build a big pot because you have a very strong hand? Trying to bluff opp out of the pot? Many of the bets you made had no apparent purpose.

I would read the "Dos and Don't for low buyin SNGs" in the SNG Tactics guide as I think you can really learn from a lot of the points there.

Again, sorry to be harsh but I really think your game has many leaks that you will need to fix to become a winning player. The good news is you've just taken the first step to fixing them by posting this tourney.

Taipan, thanks for your advice. I'm trying to go through the hands and look at your responses; what's the best way to do this? I've heard PT3 has a decent hand replayer but can't seem to get it to work to go to the next hand. It just looks at one hand. I think it would help me visualize the hands you are talking about.
    Thanks again!
