    Well, it's 1300 into 3030, meaning you need 43%. The range I come up with for villain is:

    Code:
    Board: Jh 9c 8h
    Hand 0: 	53.430%  	49.72% 	03.71% 	         67434 	     5033.50   { 88+, AhQh, AJs-ATs, Ah9h, Ah7h, Ah6h, Ah5h, Ah4h, Ah3h, Ah2h, KTs+, Kh9h, QTs+, Qh9h, J8s+, T7s+, 98s, 9h7h, 7h6h, 7h5h, 6h5h, AJo-ATo, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }
    Hand 1: 	46.570%  	42.86% 	03.71% 	         58129 	     5033.50   { TcTh }
    Are you in the mood to gamble? I think call or fold are both fine.

    Doan, your range for villain sucks imo. I really doubt there are too many players at the $25+2 level that limp/call pre with hands like J8s+, T7s+, Ah5h, etc. You also have 88+ in your range however the top end of that range would not open limp from utg, nor would a hand like AQs.

    Personally I think a majority of the time villains range here is pretty thin and is limited to JJ, 99, 88, 98s, KhQh with a slight chance he has a hand like 77, JTs, QJs etc. I am on the wifey's computer and don't have pokerstove but would be willing to bet that our equity here is less than 45%.

    It's pretty close, but I think this is a fold.
    Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

    We have no reads and villain has limped UTG on the first hand. How can we have any idea what the range might be? From what I've seen at all levels, villains tend to play pretty loose like this for the first couple blind levels. Plus it's a weekend... the bad players are out in full force.

    I'm not going to defend my range to the death or anything, but it seems to me to be a pretty reasonable range to play the hand the way it's been played thus far.

    I mean, the following range is 33% of hands. You never see 33/10s at this level?

    Code:
    22+,A2s+,K8s+,Q8s+,J8s+,T7s+,97s+,86s+,75s+,65s,54s,43s,A2o+,KTo+,QTo+,JTo

    How can you put him on a thin range on the wettest board ever? How do you figure he'll limp with JJ, 99, 88, 98 and QJs but not A5 or AQ?

    I tried write this post earlier, but I needed to dash out ...

    My range for the hand was pocket 77 or higher (I'm not too sure AA or KK plays this way, but we will include them for now). For the sake of simplicity, I have considered the other part of his range to be any broadway. As baubid suggested, his range could incl Ax etc, but I have not considered this (correctly or incorrectly).

    Hand 0: 45.958% 43.11% 02.84% 63172 4165.50 { 77+, ATs+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, ATo+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }
    Hand 1: 54.042% 51.20% 02.84% 75017 4165.50 { TcTh }

    Clear call, unless you feel you are going to have a better edge by folding.
