    Default ATs against limpers

I was watching a video over at Grinderschool that contradicted something I thought in my head so I wanted to hear the opinions on what is the correct move.

He had 11BB with ATs on the button, he decided he was already going to shove to steal the blinds/antes but then 2 limpers came before and he called it dead money and now it made him want to shove anymore because he still had fold EQ against them.

Is it better to shove with or without limpers on a shortstack is my question.

In this case I think shoving is OK, particularly if you have a read that the limpers are limp/folders rather than limp/callers. This also depends on the stack sizes of the limpers, if they have around the same stack size as we do then we have good fold equity, if one of them has a monster stack then our fold equity is probably a little less.

Plus, if the limpers are bad (which they probably are if they are limping at a time when our stack is 11x BB) then they may well call with hands that we're ahead of.

I personally like to shove with 1 or 2 limpers ahead of me on the SS with something like AT+. If they fold - great, I got extra blinds, if they call, chances are I'm ahead of them and I like my chances.

I'd feel better about the shove if I had a TAGish image at the table though...

i find that my play on the previous...say...10 hands makes a huge difference to my fold equity. If I've been on the nick quite excessively, say 4 out of last 10 hands, then I feel my fold equity can almost disappear completely.

It is a valid move to shove vs limpers with 11BB, limpers are often Ax x<10 or low-mid PP which will either fold or call and race
