    Default Don't give up

This was the third game in a row that I finished second. All three games I got all the chips in the middle with the best hand and lost. Why isn't this posted in the Tilt column? Because I just wanted to say don't stop fighting. Don't give up no matter how many times you get sucked out on. Keep coming back until they knock you out for good. Then say "NH" and walk away (or take a break before you start your next game).

I've "lost" three straight times. But I've also won second place money each time. If you get it in with the best, you've done your part. The rest is out of your control You will lose to inferior opponents you will also beat opponents who are much better than you. Many times. Get used to it and move on.

    First hand heads up.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $3.00+$0.40 Tournament, 600/1200 Blinds 75 Ante (2 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Button (t8315)
    Hero (SB) (t18685)

    Hero's M: 9.58

Preflop: Hero is SB with 10, K
    Button bets t8240 (All-In), Hero calls t7040

    Flop: (t16630) A, 7, 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t16630) 10 (2 players, 1 all-in)

This hand, I actually got it in bad, flopped the leader, and was crushed on the river.

    behind you with an axe
I lost 4 tables simultaneously last night, bubbled in 3 of them. Drives me mad, as my AK lost to KQ, my AK lost to QQ, my A5 lost to A4, and my AQ lost to 88.

It's a bitch to lose all 4 when I got in with good hands preflop, just kept either running in to other good hands or getting out drawn. But hey, thats poker.
I'm the king of bongo, baby I'm the king of bongo bong.

variance can be a cruel bitch.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

I suck at losing. I should probably learn how to do it better so I stop nerd raging all over the place. =\

Better get used to it if you're going to play poker. I guarantee you'll lose a lot more than you win.

In the batter's box. Already 0-1 count....
Online Poker is a huge variance thing. Once one learns to keep their head. The sky is the limit. Until then however, you may be living in the basement.

Just focus on whether you make the right decisions and forget about the results. That's why I edit out the results when they get posted in threads. In all of your three hands above you made the right decisions, whether you won or not is irrelevant. It actually takes a long long time to fully appreciate this fact (and even after many thousand SNGs I still often get annoyed when the results don't go my way but it doesn't affect my decisions).

One more thing, once you get it AI preflop, you have no more decisions to make so there is no such thing as "sucking out on the river". Sucking out is getting your chips in bad and getting lucky. On the 77 hand you got it in good preflop (from both an equity and a decision perspective), and it doesn't matter how you win - all that matters is you got it in good.

Nice wordds. you are right, there comes a time you got lucky and the other unlucky. You fight and you keep fighting and don't give up, what else you got to do when you lose a good hand. I am much times frustrated because AA lost from a simple 10J or someting but now i know you dont got to be frustrated because your time is coming.

For all who are punished by a bad beat. Don't give up and you see you will fight back and take more. Be strong
