Default FT 5,5$, 18-man, shorty with AKo on BB facing raise from D

    Hi,

button played moronic at the begging, but since we came to the last 9 he played much tighter, the limper is 28/15 over 47 hands on the final table.

I don't like pushing/calling here because I'm most probably behind, but with 4 BBs left and dead money from the blinds and the limper, I don't think I can fold here.

What do you think and suggest for this spot?

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 5+0.50 Tournament, 250/500 Blinds (5 handed)

    Hero (BB) (t2500)
    UTG (t6032)
    MP (t4885)
    Button (t5804)
    SB (t7779)

    Hero's M: 3.33

Preflop: Hero is BB with As, Kh
    1 fold, MP calls t500, Button bets t2250, 1 fold, [color=#CC3333]Hero ?

Hi and welcome to the forums, it's good to have you here.

This is what we refer to on the forums as a "fist pump shove" (because you're delighted to look down at AKo in this spot). With all those dead chips in the pot (500 from the limper and 750 from the blinds), the only hands you don't have the right price against are AA and KK. You may well be slightly behind hands like lower pocket pairs, but you can win 3750 chips by risking 2000 so you have very favourable odds against opp's likely range. Plus there's always the chance that he has a worse Ax or Kx and you're way ahead.

    Thx for the welcome.

I guess I just wanted to have reassurance that I did well by shoving . I was fully aware of the odds and that I would've moved to the 2nd place from being shorty and that made it a clear decision.

However, since this was the bubble (remember, 4 places are paid on 18-man) I wasn't sure it was such a clear push/call in terms of ICM. Though, SNGWiz said it was , but I never know if it is calculating for 1-table tourney, or does it get it that this is the bubble.

Another question, if the blinds were 100/200 would it still be clear call?

P.S. It's cool to get your answer taipan, since I learned how to play SNGs from your posts.

Did you set the tourney format on SNG Wiz to 2-tables? I am pretty sure you can do this. Also, the bubble factor isn't as severe on a 2-table SNG as it is on a 1-table.

For me, yes - but I haven't run it through SNG Wiz.
