Default Good play - middle of tournament?

No reads, just switched tables, about half the field gone, almost to the first break of the $30K VIP Tournament on stars.

Also, what does this mean: Hero's M: 20.67

    1) what are you asking for in this thread?

    2) regarding your M question, read Harrington on Holdem 2. If you take the total pot preflop and divide your stack by this number, you get your M. In your case, 6200/300 is 20.67. As for why this is important read the book.

Okay thanks for the help on M.

I want to know if this is a good play?

Unless your at a super aggressive table, I dont expect anyone to isolate your limp with a really wide range...so when you limp/re-raise your hand isn't in great shape. You shouldn't be trying to get 30bbs all in preflop here, just make a standard raise

i'd prefer an open raise rather than open limp

Which play, the open limp, or the shove after someone raises?

I think both of them are bad though. The limp is going to be a slightly bad play, and the shove after the raise is going to be a horrible play against 95% of opponents, but a very good play against the other 5%, which makes it bad with no reads. People are going to be raising and calling your shove with hands like 99 or better, AQ and AK. You only have 35% equity against that range, so you are losing 1500 chips on average when they call you, and picking up 1300 when they fold. I think very few people are folding more than half the time after they raise your UTG limp.

I'd just open fold UTG with no antes.
