soooooooo ive been doing this for all of one day so far. i started with a bankroll of 10$ and have only really seriously held two sessions thus far. my bankroll is now at 23.11$.
on pokerstars ive been joining 10+ tourneys at the same time of .25 buy ins or 1.20$ buy ins anywhere from 18ppl to 90ppl. what got me into this was reading some article my buddy sent me on a guy named boku, who i guess turned 100$ into 10,000$ in 14 days playing these types of SnGs. It got me very interested to see if i could do the same thing (over a much longer period of time though)
one of my questions about doing this is troubled with hands like 99-JJ. for example you're midway through a tourney with one of those three hands and you're mid position. (the stakes are low so you know they players are calling stations)
UTG limps
blinds are 50/100 and you're sitting on a 2k stack
would you limp here or raise?
i find myself raising to 3xBB+1 or 400chips in this case
then say the dealer makes the call, and UTG calls.
now you've got a 1350chip pot and pocket 9s
flop hits one over card and 2 under cards or we'll say K 3 6 rainbow
now what? Cbet? check? fold? pray for a 9?
these have become very sticky situations for me and im starting to believe just limping with these hands is a better idea and using the set it or forget it technique, atleast for these stakes.
I've also found myself playing phenominal poker, because im not getting bored and making dumb limps with KQo because theres always action at one of the other tables to keep me interested and on point with my plays. im usually either raising or folding unless i get a small PP.
BUT one of my problems is say in a 27person tourney i play great and hit my sets and everything in one of them, but in the other 2 im missing everything (which is poker i know) but i still end up making it late in the tourney so ill get to the final table and end up busting as the bubble boy or right around there.
I want to know if anyone has any tips on if the cards arent there, and you're not really hitting sets and big hands. and techniques or strategys, i mean im trying to make the best of my shoves but sometimes they're just embarassing because im so low in chips and making a button shove to steal.
any tips would be nice or info on strategies people have on playing tournaments like this would be awesome. alright thx for readin pzzzz
