yea this one isnt really close.. i was just being results oriented when he showed up with 77

villains range is AA/JJ/77 imo with maybe 25% weighted KK at best...

Obv folding is outrageously exploitable and just awful looking. However, I believe it is correct here vs this player.

is it really atrocious? He's obv not smart or he wouldn't be a huge nit, but let's pretend he is.

He knows that we're not 3bet bluffing a meganit who raises in EP and rarely folds to 3bets, and that we have a real small value range. So we have AA/KK. He knows that we're stacking off basically always (judging by the comments in this thread), and he's getting over 10:1 implied, so he can call.

And I'm with badgers vs this guy.

You'd be right if my range was as tight as KK/AA. I'm doing this with QQ/AK still though at least. I'm not getting stacked on this board with these hands. He doesn't always stack KK 100% of the time here either.

ok interesting thought if we know he's a going to be setmining our 3bets here and putting us on AA/KK should we 3bet Axs and other "speculative" hands and call with QQ+/AK until he adjusts (if ever)?

imo yes, except still 3bet AA as he can decide KK is good enough to get it in

yes and then cbet him to death

Why is it wrong for him to call your bet pf with a pocket pair? Is that something you only do at the microstakes?
  18. #18
So are you guys assuming that he plays tight postflop just because he plays tight preflop? What stats (if any) on pokertracker help make the distinction between preflop and postflop play.

calling 3 bet oop without good implied odds(1:15 or better) is pretty bad IMO.

9/7/2 is a very nitty stat even in FR games on pokerstars.

i think that i'd shove with AA but fold QQ-KK in this spot vs this player.
  22. #22
at 9/7 i don't see him raising anything but JJ+ here. i say get it in and watch him flip QQ/KK over

don't you think this implies something about his postflop play? Hint: it would be absolutely atrocious for him to play KK in this way. If he has KK he has played it far worse than if he has 77 (which I think is more clearly more likely.

He knows what you have if he can even remotely handread (which is why I almost always call this preflop). He isn't expecting you to fold.
