Default TT Flops Overpair, too passive?

MP2 was tight/weak, played QQ just like this line earlier (minus the river check) but other than that he hasn't played a hand. SB was a donk who caught AA vs KK and QQ to get his monster stack, I wasn't worried about him and wanted him to keep donating.

Preflop, on the flop and on the turn I thought I was playing good small-ball poker by keeping the pot small in case MP did have a big hand (as mentioned, he played QQ very similar to this a few hands ago) and letting SB continue to donate, but in retrospect I think I could have gotten a lot more out of this hand. With your help, I'm looking to prevent that from happening in the future.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00+$0.20 Tournament, 15/30 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP3 (t1120)
    Hero (CO) (t1410)
    Button (t1750)
    SB (t5200)
    BB (t1500)
    UTG (t1080)
    UTG+1 (t1380)
    MP1 (t1350)
    MP2 (t1590)

    Hero's M: 31.33

Preflop: Hero is CO with 10, 10
    3 folds, MP2 bets t120, 1 fold, Hero calls t120, 1 fold, SB calls t105, 1 fold

    Flop: (t390) 8, 3, 6 (3 players)
SB bets t30, MP2 raises to t90, Hero calls t90, SB calls t60

    Turn: (t660) 9 (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 bets t150, Hero calls t150, SB calls t150

    River: (t1110) 2 (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets 400

Quick note about the river: by this point I knew I had the best hand and was just hoping to get called by someone with an 8 or a 9.

So when do you think I should have made the re-raise? Preflop? On the flop with a tiny bet and a tiny raise in front of me? On the turn? Or was it okay to keep the pot small with the read that he could be betting weak with a strong hand?

I think you played it fine. I mean, how do you feel about raising and calling a four-bet shove? The pot is too big to fold for such small bets.

if you don't want to re raise pre or get the money in with an over pair, which is fine if he's really tight I guess, I would just fold.

With the small bet sizes SB's calls are almost surely correct, you have priced in gutters, bottom pair and overs so he isn't 'donating' and the last thing you want is for him to stay in with those hands since you have no idea what he has and will end up paying him off a lot of times to boot. I would read theory of poker.

I understand why you don't want to raise but the fact that SB gets essentially free draws at you since you're afraid of MP is another good reason to fold pre.

I don't have a problem with flatting pre here, and it's certainly not a fold. A raise of 200-300 on the flop would have been nice though and would have made turn & river much more clear.
Congratulations, you've won your dick's weight in sweets! Decode the message in the above post to find out how to claim your tic-tac

I would probably have re rasied pre flop and called a shove if their was one.
On the flop I would probably have pushed hard maybe even a shove after the pre flop re raise.

I dont think you played at all badly especially after the flop however these $2.20 tournies tend not to be the place for small ball, people will call big bets with substandard holdings. AK/AQ/A8 A6 and a bunch of weaker hands would probably have called on that flop.

i agree with luco. once my medium pp comes out better than any flop pair i would raise significantly. even if a A-J hits the turn u will still have position and can put a "feeler" bet out there relative to ur stack size. u said u think u could've gotten more out of the hand but im still not clear as to if u won or not.

I don't mind the Pre-flat because you have the odds and SB coming along is more a stack size thing then a hand thing most of the time, so I feel he is donating here.

On the flop, I'm not sure what these guys are doing, but I'd stick in a raise of 300-400. If Either come of the top, then I'm prob folding here, but I really don't want SB's 78s or MP2 AQo to get there. With both of those players keeping the betting small, Then yeah, I throw some chips and hope to take down the pot on the flop...at that point, the pot is more then 1/3 your stack so it's a decent take down...if you get called on the flop and the turn comes, I just shove and hope I didn't run into a slow played set...

Flop is definitely good, I'd get it in on the turn though. You called the flop because people usually reveal the strength of their hand on the turn, when he bets 1/4 of the pot you know you have the best hand, not too much money behind, just go all-in.

And if one of them shoves over with A8 you were just unlucky that your bluff with an overpair ran into his TPTK right? Raising the flop is not good especially if you're folding to a shove.
