Default Deep in Tournie Low M. What to do

21 people left in this donkament. We started with 5300+ and have been playing for 6 hours. I had been quiet for a couple of orbits having lost a big hand when a set of 8 went down to a set of kings.

When dealt the AJ my plan was to either push all in if anyone opened the pot before the SB or to run a go and go on the SB.

With so many in the pot I wasn't sure what to do, my stack was small and people would be getting good odds.

I would shove this and be fairly happy with it. I think the only call you may get is prob CO and I think he's calling fairly light because of his stack size. Unless button or SB wake up with a slow played hand, I believe you're good here the vast majority of the time and with your stack size, that's about all you can hope for...shove and GL

    Seems a totally standard shove.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

have you ever seen hellmuth splash the pot insta shove AA in one of his "trap" moves?

that's what i'd be doing here.
guys he's just looking to complain about taking coolers/beats

he'll continue to be the type of poker player we all love, the one that isn't any good but thinks he is, and slowly donates to the regulars.

It's a shove because you probably have the best hand, tons of money in the pot, and low M. = insta shove.

It looks like a good opportunity. Unless one of them is slowplaying a big hand hoping for a raise, then I agree that only the CO is at all likely to call. If he does, then you are at least 60:40 against his hand, with dead money in the pot as well.

Read the title and was going to post "Go all-in" without reading the post, then read the post and saw that I was right.

This makes you sound like scared money FWIW, don't be afraid to bust out making a good play.

yeah the bad news is in addition to getting used to finishing 5000/5300 which you get lots of practice at, you also have to get used to finishing 50/5300 which happens a lot less, but still a lot more than 1/5300. I dunno if it's possible until you just get the hands in but try as best as you can - don't look at the lobby much, etc.

I like to put a quick BI note on everyone I play against - 20 FO, 10RB, Sunday Mil etc. In the old days I would update these notes as the tourney milestones went by - 20 RB ITM, 10 FO final 27 - because these seemed like awesome accomplishments. Now I just do the FT, maybe the final two tables if it is the only table I have running and even that is just to job my memory because you'll usually end up with a good read on people you go that deep with.

If you put too much emphasis on a 'deep' run like this you will almost certainly not be playing well, especially in a 2 MTT where everyone is probably thinking about how deep you are and waiting for you to run them over. This post with these zomg bad limps is a great example.

Agreed. You have to be willing to get it in when you get a hand and your on the ss. I'm shoving and happy if I get a call or if I just take it down right there.

Thanks drmcboy. As always you hit the nail on the head. I didnt make a mistake with the hand it was my attitude that was wrong.
I will try to get it right next time.

Change the attitude to 'powerful'.. from 'hopeful'.. and just get your money in.
Amazing how the highblind limping tards can be still doing that deep in an MTT. Don't play scared... just shove it in. If they're limping with a big Ace... oh well. Odds are you're way ahead. Go with an attitude of hoping he calls. If you win you're improving your situation considerably.
I found I had more regrets in earlier MTT days of not being aggressive enough in late stages, often being content moving up a few spots once deep in a tourney &/or afraid of putting my stack at risk. You have to go for it when the oppurtunity presents itself.... here is one of them imo.
