    Default $5.50 PS SnG

Hello all. I am just getting back into poker again. Previously I have tried cash games and was playing at the 0.25/0.50 level, before I cashed out from boredom. I am newly interested in tournaments and enjoy the dynamics of tournament play. I understand some of the basics (Thanks to FTR), but I am always interested in improving my game.

Please be brutally honest, I'm curious on missed opportunities as far as stealing the blinds go (when shortstacked).

    Reads:
Trebor is a bad player, SS says -11% ROI over 1100 games. I saw him minraise on a really scary board when he paired his ace on the river.

    Thanks,
    Will

    1. AJo - because of pot odds calling the raise is fine, but be sure not to lose a lot of chips on an A or J high flop. This is called reverse implied odds.

    2. JTo - I'd fold preflop (if they were suited I'd limp as you did). As played, flop is fine but I definitely call the turn shove against a player this bad. There are plenty of hands that you beat here that he will shove, he definitely doesn't always have the flush, he could have a bare T, a single diamond flush draw, two pair, even A9.

    3. 85s - personally I fold preflop, this is just a bit weak for me, if there were more limpers I'd complete but 5:1 isn't really good enough with this crap

    4. AJs - fine, you could also fold preflop because you're UTG. If they were offsuit I'd fold

    5. J8s - same as hand 3, fold preflop

Rest was fine, all the shoves were good and I don't think you missed any hands that you should have shoved.

I forgot to mention that this was the first hand I played against this player and I didn't have a read for him until I saw him showdown later hands. What would you do against an unknown?

How about the hand I busted on? It looks like my RRAI puts the pot at 1530 and he has to call 675, which is about 2.4 to 1 to call, but our stack sizes are so different, do I ever get a fold here?

Oh and btw, thank you for your feedback

What about the last hand Tai? I haven't run it through Wiz, but it seems like KTs is a bit loose to shove over a button raise. There's certainly no fold equity. Because of that, you're basically calling an all-in with KTs, which doesn't seem right. I'll check it in Wiz sometime this weekend.

I ran it through Wiz, and provided that he's raising at least 30% of hands (22+, A2+, K8o+, K4s+, QJo, Q9s+, JTs) and never folds (which I don't think he will) then it's a good shove over. Considering he's the second stack and you and SB are the short stacks, I'd say there's a good chance that he's raising at least this wide.
