    Default Need computer help

Ok, so anytime Im playing music, it gets horribly distorted anytime I scroll (in msword, firefox, IE, ect), and when I browse to a new page. I noticed this started about a week ago, but I dont think Ive installed anything new except AVG. The problem persists whether Im playing through the speakers, headphoens, or external speakers. It also doesnt change if Im using WMP or Itunes.

I have an asus v50gt running vista home 64, my soundcard is made by realtek. Am I simply having driver issues?

maybe...I'd download the current drivers for your sound card first and see if that helps.

ya, I was at school on their slow ass wireless, so I figured maybe I could get some input before I could get home and try that.

I am home now, and it was the drivers Everythings working great now..

err I got a little distortion when scrolling just a second ago.. but its pretty rare and it was when I was aggressively scrolling to try and make it happen..

You always get a little noise on badly shielded cards like sound-on boards, and especially if you use the front-outs on your tower - because the cable acts like an antenna. Normally this should be close to inaudible if you turn the volume all the way up internally and control on your stereo / speakers.
If it's only on the front outs, then get the cable in a different position - but it could be just the connection that runs straight across the motherboard causing the problem.
Or you could solder in an attenuator.
