20+ views, no response. I guess nobody has heard of it.

It's a standard 10man sng, $5 + 0.5 buy in, usual payout structure, but if you place 1st 5 in a row you get a $15k bonus, place top 2 positions 5 in a row and get a $200 bonus.

They payout as normal, so there is no extra risk.

I think I'm going to cane these for a while and see if I can get lucky.

Just sharkscoped myself, in 314 torneys at Titan, I have landed ITM 5 times or more in a row on 2 occasions, (That's ITM though, not top 2 places) and the most 1st places in a row is 2 wins.

Any opinions on how likely it is to hit this bonus?

Also sharkscoped myself on Pacific where I used to play, in 1407 torneys, I placed 5 in a row or more only 5 times and my biggest wins in a row was 4. But I am a much better player now, thanks to FTR.

Also, which can only be a good thing, the competition seems to be approx 3/10 players with a positve ROI.

    Any thoughts anyone?

Another thought, with the bonus in mind, should you're strategy change at all?

wow thats a sweet bonus regardless of how unlikely i might have to put a bit of money into titan and try it out.

Do they take any part of the prize pool for the bonus ?

Assuming everyone is on equal level you chance of hitting 1st 5 times in a row is 1:10^5 which is 1:100,000. Your chance of hitting top 2 is 1:5^5 which is 1:3125
Even if the field sucks it does not do much good as in best case you double your chances.
Dont change any of your strategy when you play those until you won or placed top 2 3 times in a row

How would you suggest your strategy should change once this happens?

Once this happens you should have more incentive to take risks to win 1st

hmmm, I suppose any ICM results would change drastically which such a top heavy pay out structure.

Also, on the 5th game, with 4 wins behind you, the bubble changes somewhat.

For everyone else, the bubble is with 4 people left, but for you, the real bubble is with 3 people left (as 2nd gets a $200 bonus, and first $18500).

    So this changes everything.

Down to the last 4, do you play aggressive as normal, ie because nobody wants to call their stack and bubble out, or do you sit back, as limping into second gives you a huge payoff compared to third. ie the 3rs/2nd payout trade off is much bigger than the standard 1 buyin difference. But then of course there is the huge incentive to place first.

It all confuses me a little. In fact, wouldn't this kill any ICM calculators, as they can't take into account different payouts for different players.

Also, there is the fact that nobody else at the table will know how close I am to the bonus. So they are playing for normal payouts, but I am playing for much, much more.

Yes, absolutely - it turns into a mini-winner takes all game.

I'd forget about the "normal" payout structure for the tourney if you have won 4 in a row. Who cares about winning $8.50 for 3rd place if the payout is $200 for 2nd and $18,500 for 1st?

On the downloadable ICM calculator (and some of the web ones) you can set the payout structure as you see fit.

Yes, in fact if you get HU against a player who hasn't won 4 in a row, you should offer them cash to sit out or otherwise let you win! To take this to its logical extreme, you could offer every player at the table up to around $2000 each if all they do is sit out and let you take 1st!

Collusion? naughty naughty taipan, I'd never do that.

Also Dan, if you want we could sit and do 5 of these together and collude so you get 1st 5 times, I'll take 5k for it.

Luco, you should have pm'd me that!

Obviously any collusion means no bonus, and the rules specify that before payout, all applicable torneys will be checked for any cheating/collusion and you can't have the same 10 players at a table each time, although theoretically, 10 of us could do it, with 5 of us on the table at a time, never having the same 5 at the table.

Still, I'd rather just win it myself.

FYI, so far, played 6, came third once and lost the other 5 lol

But there were a couple of terrible bad beats in there. And one occurance of me being a donk on the bubble, raising all in b4 bigstack acted when I was in 3rd and 4th had 300 chips left. Whoops! need to stop watching TV when I play.

I didn't pm because I was kidding, doing nothing but SnGs through the whole of April destroyed my post flop skills, it's taken several very expensive hours at the cash tables to get them back.

Will be in the NDF tonight, but other than that I'm sticking with cash games

New depositor's freeroll, runs 30th of every month on Titan. When I signed up I got a whole bunch of tokens and I've been using them to get in the freerolls. Actually after this NDF I have only 1 ndf satellite token left, then it's no more freerolls for me...

what time is it on? And how many entrants usually?
And can you specify which time zone as well.

I can only play after 10pm when the missus goes to bed

Why, do you still have your signup tokens?

It's on at 8pm GMT (9pm British summer time). If I wasn't in this freeroll I'd be playing in the FTR money added instead (which starts at midnight my time, 11pm GMT).

Max entrants 2,000 but last month there was only 1,100. Competition is pretty soft.

I've never used any of them.
FTR free one????? I need to start looking into this freebie lark.

The money added isn't free, it's $2+$0.20 to enter. No FTR freerolls on Titan.

What timezone are you in, dan?

    bst.

How many generally enter the FTR money added? Is it only open to FTR members?

I got tired around quarter past midnight and threw my chips in on QT and ran into AQ. Takes a bit too long for a relatively small payout, doubt I'd play again unless it was a weekend night.

    How about yourself?

I got my aces cracked by QTs with about 800 people left when it hit a backdoor flush. Was gonna do the ftr one afterwards, but it starts a bit late for a euro site (11pm ftl).

It's on a saturday next month though, so should be good for it as I won't have to get up at 6am for work. I'm not intersted in the $$$, I just want to rub shoulders with (i.e. dominate) some other ftr members.

    lol

I only just realised the new depositers freeroll is a 20k torney.

I assumed it would just be a few hundred dollars total prize fund so have never bothered.

I now have 5 satalite tokens, so will be getting in on that action now.

I have one satellite token left and it expires in a fortnight, so I'll be putting myself down for one last shot very soon.

What are the sats like? Hom many players usually? And how many places with a seat at the 20k table?

1/ Unbelievably soft. Like, butter on a blowtorch soft. You have to see it to believe it.
    2/ 500
    3/ 50

Just remember once you get to around 15-17k chips, fold your way into a seat. You gain nothing by betting after this point.
