    That's just Manny being Manny...

Seriously, he says its not steroids and baseball people (Peter Gammons and he said he talked to Red Sox management) say they don't believe that it would be steroids.

Can't say I feel too bad though.

    yawn

nobody cares, just about all of them juiced anyway so this doesn't surprise me. hell, I played college ball (JuCo and D-II) and even some of the guys I played with were juicing...

True story: David Segui played at the same college I played at. He would come back from time to time to work out with us during the winter time to get ready for Spring Training. I remember thinking in 1998/1999, "I'm never going to make it to The League. This guy is such a genetic freak it's unreal." The dude was HUGE and had muscles popping out that I didn't even know existed. Little did I know (then), he was using PED's...but now, looking at major league players during that era and their body types.....it's pretty safe to assume that most of the players were juicing.

wake me when Griffey gets implicated and then, and only then, will I be shocked.

I care, it's fucking ridiculous, the penalties are obviously not strong enough. Manny should be gone for the whole season, there is enough evidence to prove he was juicing for a long period of time. Other players should have individual awards/bonuses stripped from them and if it doesn't improve teams/franchises need to be held liable.

I grew up in love with baseball, played til I was ~15, still watch every 'stros game on TV but this constant reminder that no none is doing things the right way is disheartening. We first only looked at guys who were ripped/in-shape. Now a semi-pudge like Manny proves that anyone can be taking the drugs.

It's all about getting an edge. "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying." In a perfect world it'd be great to have a super-duper testing system in place, where if you got caught you'd be banned for life...but that's just not ever going to happen. I understand all of your points, and even agree with you, but beyond putting an asterisk by the last few decades I don't know what else can be done.

You could just open up a roids league and let everyone jump over to the roids league.

I don't see how its at all surprising Manny Ramirez is using PEDs

It used to be that 36 year old players didn't put up power numbers similar to 24 year olds (2008 he had 37 HR, 121 RBI)
