    Default Do you call this?

    Titan Poker - $1 buyin - 10 players

    blinds: 200/400

    Button (3685)
    SB Hero (4690)
    BB (3870)
    UTG (1875)
    UTG+1 (880)

    Preflop: Hero is in the SB with Qh Js
    UTG raises to 1875, 2 folds, Hero?

    Fold for me. I don't think that UTG is shoving very much that you're ahead of, best case is that you're flipping and you could be very badly dominated.

    If you're going to play SNGs seriously, I recommend downloading SNG Wiz which will help you to analyse these sorts of situations.

    Easy fold. You're the chip leader and you're more than likely behind UTG's range. Even if you're ahead, it's still probably 60-40. Not worth risking nearly 40% of your chips. Save your chips for when you can be the aggressor.

    That's an opening hand, not a calling hand. Without FE it just sucks.

    easy fold, you'd out-flop his A-rag, but the A would hit on the river and you're back to scrapping in the middle of the pack, never fails

    In SB there.... easy fold.
    If you were in same situation while in BB... then I'd say call (would be getting 2:1 and wouldn't be so much of your stack, 30%).

    Calling here on SB is just bad play imo... for many reasons. ie. you flat.. BB comes over the top... what then... spewage.

    um, no

    I don't call here, I shove... you don't want the BB getting fancy against you.

    If you were in UTG+1's shoes what would your range be here? He is effectively crippled on the next hand. Almost any two is correct no matter what ICM says. I'm sure he doesn't like being blinded out anymore than you would.

    Now taking that into account as the sb, check out what the stack sizes looked like if you called. If you won you are the monster stack and could run the table over... whereas if you lost, your equity wouldn't be damaged all that much. You still had 3 hands to shove and regain most of what you just lost and wouldn't be blinded out even if the blinds passed you one more time.

    I am guessing on average here you will have like 45% equity minimum.. so 45% of the time you have a monster stack, and the rest of the time you are not crippled and have strong chance to win.

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 45.211% 43.18% 02.03% 260274620 12224394.50 { QcJd }
    Hand 1: 54.789% 52.76% 02.03% 318007599 12224394.50 { 55+, A2s+, K5s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, A7o+, A5o, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o }

    That's why you shove all in.

    I'm actually torn between a shove and a fold here. A call is bad here imo. The short stack could be shoving with anything here and you're close to getting the right odds here.

    I like a shove.

    fold probably.. but it might be a steal or little pairs like 44 he is on
    fishesh on my table is very yammiii (:

    I would also fold in this situation, what is that SNG Wiz all about?

    No brainer, fold. Unless you're Gus Hansen.

    If the rest of the table is as willing to fold as is often the case in $1 games, shoving here is horrible because of the amount of equity you lose the 54% of the time villain beats you (assuming that range is right, which might be questionable at these stakes...).

    You're much better off waiting 'til you can be first in and then raising to apply pressure and pick up free chips.

    If everyone is shoving and calling too much, I think a similar argument could be made that you lose a lot of equity when your stack is undoubtedly big enough to carry you through the bubble.

    The only time this is close to a shove is if almost everyone at the table is playing well...And I kind of doubt that is the case here.
    I run a training site...
