If it's the first time someone raised 4x I usually assume they're a donk with a big hand that they're almost never folding, like 88+ AQ+, and shove the hands that are in fine shape against that range, TT+ AK. I don't think you need quite 50% equity because occasionally they do fold or show up with something really dumb.

This is tough. I think at this stage, you still have a playable stack, and good fold equity. If Big Stack has been bullying in every position with big PFRs, I can shove easily, but if he's been quiet, I don't like a shove here, because like it or not, AK is usually racing or worse if you get a call. It would be nice to pick up the 1325 in the pot if he folds, but I hate 3-bet shoving AKo in the middle of a tourney into the big stack's early-position 4x raise. It's just going to lose too often, IMO. If it's a cash game, you've got great odds, but it's not, and you're out of the tourney if your A or K doesn't come. I hate to lose my stack on AK unimproved this early.

OP has a stack that is 20bbs. He's not in that great of shape and it's not that early in the tourney. If this is stars, antes are in play at this stage making it even a better spot to get your chips in. You can't fold your way to the final table and first place. AKo is an awesome hand in this spot. I'm never folding AK and TT+. Sometimes I would push 99 as well. Since villain has a big stack, like mcat said, this is typical donk raising and could be a slew of hands that are decent but play difficult post flop. I don't think that you can be that certain that it's as tight as QQ+ or whatever.

Except for the times when you're way ahead or chopping with another AK.

TT+/AK is a good range, may be too tight.

You played it perfect...folding here is a big leak IMO

Were you all in preflop? It doesn't say bets/checks on the flop, turn, or river.

And what good does that do you, if you're not going to use it here? You'll probably get blinded down to 8 BB and start shoving junk, and wish you had shoved here. You can't build a stack in MTTs if you have the mindset that a "playable stack" means you get to wait for AA.
