Hand 1: I usually raise AQo+ regardless of position unless there has already been a raise. Depending on the raise/number of limpers, I will call or reraise. With a raise and multiple callers, I will probably fold it. If there is a raise and I feel I have the better hand or that the raiser is just trying to steal blinds, I will re raise. Once I raise, I will fold to a reraise.
Hand 2: Same thing as Hand 1, except with AKo+. Raise regardless of position. I often get in trouble with AK once re raised. I usually always call and sometimes win but most of the time when up against any sort of PP, I lose. I am unsure of whether a call/fold is better here.
Hand 3: Right after the AK hand (Hand 2), I felt the table was tight, so I tried another raise in the cutoff. Flop is not good for me with two callers, so I don’t try to continuation bet against the larger stack.
Hand 4: Blind-Steal raise at the button with the Ace.
Hand 5: Same as Hand 4 with K9s. I figure the two to the left of me are tight, despite 555 being the chip leader.
Hand 6: Here is where I lost this one. I figured I needed to be more aggressive before 50/100 blinds hit me in order to get some chips fast. I felt the table was tight and that I could raise EP and induce a fold with a marginal hand. I got re raised and I figured he was trying to resteal, and that even if he had a premium at best I figured I could suckout with a Q or 8 or unlikely straight draw. He got the full house with the better hand.
Summary: I suppose I could have played my AQ, AK tighter and not have raised, in order to induce raises post-flop, but other than that, I don’t see where I could have won here. I guess not have raised the 8Qo at the end, but I was short stack and I figured the only way I could catch up is by raising against a fairly passive table. I am confused with this one…

Hand 1: BB here, check it all the way through. Hit my straight but did not get any action.
Hand 2: Here I play against this TPMK and value bet through the hand. At the river, I figure his third consecutive bet of 60 was just trying to induce a raise and I thought he might shove if I raised again. Of course I had him beat, but I called to be safe… I should have raised here, but I still picked up a decent pot early.
Hand 3: Tried to play this QKs, usually I don’t this early, but I figured in second I could push some of the lower stacks around. I don’t hit, and I don’t want to c-bet against the chip leader so I check it down and lose to the Ace-high.
Hand 4: Completed the SB with A7 suited. Did not hit flop and folded to bet.
Hand 5: Here I try to blind steal by raising J2s on the button. BB calls but I don’t get a piece of the flop. I c-bet anyway and he folds. Aggression is the weakest part of my game by far, this is basically the best I can do; most of the time I get raped by reraises, calling stations, etc.
Hand 6: Ugh. I figured he called my pre flop raise, so even when I hit TPTK on the flop, I checked to see if he would bet into me. He didn’t. So I check the turn, again, stupidly. And he bets into me. This time I smile with glee as I shove… he hits his flush. I know I messed up here and should have c-bet on the flop, but still I think he would have called with high pair and gutshot flush draw. So what should have I done here? This, IMO is where I lost the SNG.
Hand 7: Pre flop raise with AQo, no callers.
Hand 8: This guy reads me well. I try to take it on the turn by betting but he calls and raises on the river. I wanted to try and bluff here.
Hand 9: Here blinds have gone up and after this orbit I have 5BB left. I am in SB and Gambit (BB) has been tight all game so I raise against him with absolute crap but he calls and bust out :/
Clearly I need help, thanks so much.

    OK, here's the first one:

    1. AQo - make it 80 to go rather than 60, you don't want to get 5 callers with this hand

    2. AKo - fine, but make it 120 instead

    3. A7o - personally I just dump this hand, with the $1.20 players tending to be calltards and with three of them to act, I just let it go

    4. A4o - OK, but make it 150 not 200 now that blinds are getting bigger

    5. K9s - again, fine

    6. Q8o - wow, sorry to be harsh but now this hand is totally spewing chips. You raise a crappy hand from UTG+1 (so with 4 players to act), get re-raised and shove over with no fold equity? Why do this? I just fold the first time and fold really fast the second.

Overall I think you played fine up to the last hand (other than my comments about raise size).

Hand 1: This early in the tournament, I fold AQo UTG, but it's close. AQs or AKo I would play the way you played it.

In-between hands: In position with 1 limper and an M of more than 30, I'd pay 1BB to see a flop.

Hand 3: This is too soon to be blind-stealing. Your M is still more than 30.

Hand 4-5: Your M has dropped to around 17-18, which is still very comfortable. Don't steal with trash at least. I usually haven't start stealing here, yet. BTW, A4o is trash.

Hand 6: This is basically a bluff. Q8o is a very bad hand. You shouldn't get desperate at all here. I disagree with the suggestion that you should show aggression before the BB hits 100. I think you should start showing more aggression when the BB hits 100, and then I'm talking about agression like in hand 3.

You can own the table with aggression in the late stages, but you need to get there first. In the early game, "tight is right". In this tournament, you didn't even make it to the middle.

Edit: Okay, I just realized that the starting stacks were 1500 chips and not 2000 chips as I originally thought. That makes hands 3-5 closer. Personally, I'd still fold them, though.

    Second tournament:

Hand 2: Raise to 5BB when the blinds are this low. I think I'd try keeping the pot smaller after the unwelcome turn card, but I might be too scared here.

Hand 3: A ½-pot c-bet might have pushed him out of the pot.

Hand 5: Fold. It's too soon and the hand is too poor (it's terrible, in fact).

Hand 6: I'd call, pre-flop. AK can be a problematic hand when it doesn't hit, and you have benefit of position on the flop, so it's not so important to drive him out. As you said yourself: Bet the flop, never slowplay TP/TK. (It's not a c-bet, btw. It's a value bet. c-bet is when you miss the flop). You're probably loosing a bunch of chips here anyway, though. It happens.

    Hand 7: Push all-in with <10BB.

Hand 8: You don't really have the chips to spare playing around like this. If you don't want to push, check/fold.

Edit: Come to think of it. I think, I'd push pre-flop. I like my chances against most people's completing range.

Hand 9: Well played. According to SnGWiz this is right against even a loose player.

OK, here's my comments on the second one. I'll do a review of Wolle's feedback, that way we get a bit of QC happening.

Hand 1: (A4o) - personally I just take the free card on the flop and turn rather than betting. That said, I don't mind the first bet but I definitely check behind on the second. Your turn bet is a waste of chips, if you want to bet, bet it like you mean it rather than betting 1/3 of the pot.

I think 4x BB is enough here, no need to inflate the pot unnecessarily. As played, flop raise is good and I would raise more on the turn and shove the river. At a $1.20 tourney, TPTK is very often the nuts, this guy wants to call your raises, there are lots of hands he might have that you beat, get 'em all in. I'm not that afraid of the 8 on the turn, that only helps JT really.

I've lost stacks and stacks and stacks of chips with KQs in early position; I'd just fold preflop. As played, I agree with Wolle that I would c-bet the flop for 120 or so.

    Agree, just let it go

Agree with everything Wolle said here. There are very few situations that I would slowplay TPTK (very dry board, very aggressive opponent) and I'd say these almost never come up in a $1.20 tourney.

Agree with this. I shove preflop, expect to get a fold most of the time and even if called expect to be 60/40 favourite a lot of the time. I really don't like your postflop play either, you're way too shortstacked to try to buy the pot like this.

Agree, I am shoving this 100% of the time. You'll get folds far more often than you should, and even if you're called the worst you'll usually be is a 2:1 dog.

I don't have much to add, but I'll add this: very few opponents that you face are able to do a re-steal at this level. If he re-raises you, he's likely got something, and normally that's either a mid to high PP or Ax (with x normally being 10 or higher).

Re-raising all-in with Q-8 is bad simply because at this level, opponents will NEVER fold once they've re-raised, not even if they have a crap hand. And I don't think you should ever go into a hand where you just hope that you suck out. The only time you should be thinking that is when you are forced to go all-in due to pot odds or when you're down to the felt and have to push with any two.

Having said that, I don't think you were in a desperate position quite yet. But raising Q-8 from early position in a microstakes tournament is definitely -EV. I understand your frustration there, I've been there many times before, but you've got to let that hand go pre-flop or definitely once you were re-raised.

    Thanks for the feedback,

but the 82o push there is really a good play? It seems like a garbage hand to me even if he calls 10% of the time. Am I just shoving SB against BB and no limpers regardless of cards late in the tournament?

I ran this through SNG Wiz and if opp calls 10% of the time (ie. with the best 10% of hands) this is very solidly profitable. Opp would have to call wider than about 35% to make this an unprofitable shove (and even then I'd say you should still shove but that's another discussion about the limitations of ICM).

Download SNG Wiz and have a play with it - it will open your eyes. There's a 30 day free trial.
