Default Playing Low-Buyin SNGs at FTP

    Hello guys,

This is my very first post at this board. I started Poker some years ago but now decided to give it a serious try with bankroll managment. Therefor i cashed 50$ at FTP starting with the 1$ SNGs. I doubled that money by now (started 2-3weeks ago) and decided to go up in levels. I played 122 1$ SNGS with a ROI of 35.15% and 21/30/17 1st/2nd/3rd
But i cant get into the 2$ SNGs, played 6 so far beeing ITM only once with second place.
Is it that different at 2$ SNGS? Should i stay at 1$ and try to do more tables at once(currently im doing 2-max)

Im looking forward for some advices and have to say i like that board. As for my english, let me say that i'm from europe

if you've only played 6, it could be just variance and nothing needs to be fixed...

Stay at $2 as long as BR mgmt allows. I generally play the $2 turbos on FT. Out of the money 6 in a row but won 2 in a row last night.

Also read the "newbie circle of death" article.

Thx for your answers so far. The thing is that winning seems to be a lot harder at the 2$, shouldnt it be better to do more of the 1$ as the players there are much weaker imo?

I can't imagine that the standard of play would be that much better at all between the $1 and $2 levels.

I dont think there is a big difference in the skill level, however you may be playing differently because you consider it a higher level

I tried to upload some HH using the Tournament Trimmer but it always says that Button Seat(8,3,5,whatever) is not occupied for all histories

I spend most of my time at the $1 and $2. biggest difference is that you find a lot more "all in maniacs" at the $1 for what ever reason. Lot's of first hand all in's with A-rag.
Just review the hands you play while BB is 60 and under at $2 level. You should be playing very small range of hand OOP and only slightly more in postion. By this level, it is usually down to 6 or 7 and you can play a few more hands and play more aggressive. Hang in there, you'll do fine.
