Default Cannot Win Consistently on $1+.20 PS SnG :/

Hello FTR members, I am new to the forums, and if at all possible, I would like some help with my SnG game; something crucial I might have missed...

I have been playing the $1+.20 9-man SnG on PokerStars for about two weeks now.
I've read Sit and Go Strategy by Collin Moshman, several articles, a Comedy of Errors from this one website (I forget), and obtained tips from my friend. I multitable on average 6 tables at a time and generally I break even or lose some money. To see if multitabling is my problem, I frequently one-table the $3.40 turbo and non/turbo one table SnG, but again I either break even or lose. I cannot seem to win consistently despite playing smart and tight in the early stages and aggressive in the late stages. I always think I get bad beated but I know thats not possible over the long term of 100-150 games.

I can post some hand histories or you can Sharkscope me or whatever program you use.

I do not use ICM or +EV calculations when making my decisions.

    Thanks for help

Okay first I'm going to suggest bankroll management. Read up on it, follow it, and go from there. (i.e. you should NOT be playing $3+ buy-in games if your roll can only support $1 games no matter what the circumstances).

And cut down the tables to like 4 or less if you have trouble beating the game.

I'll leave it at that and allow others to follow...

Hi and welcome to FTR, it's great to have you here.

    Some general pieces of advice:

    1. Above all, post some hands/tourneys on this forum so others can comment on them and give you advice. It is virtually impossible to give you any useful feedback without a hand or tourney to refer to. You need 10 posts to post hyperlinks which the hand converter and tourney trimmer contain; until you have 10 posts it's OK to post the hand raw.

    2. I echo Micro's comments above about bankroll management. If your BR isn't sufficient to play $3.40s (ie at least $100) or if you can't/won't reload then you will almost certainly go busto unless you are very very lucky.

    3. If you are a new player, I strongly suggest starting off by playing one table at a time to master the basics before adding more tables. Play no more than 2 tables for 3 months until virtually all decisions become automatic (and correct!).

    4. Read the FAQs to this forum and all of the articles in the SNG Tactics Digest (but particularly the Dos and Don'ts of low buyin SNGs and the Common Beginner Mistakes).

    5. 100-150 games is a very very small sample size in the grand scheme of poker. 1000+ is only just getting out of the short term and 5000+ is getting into the long term. If your sample size is only 100-150 games it is quite possible to have simply run bad (although without reviewing your hands/tourneys it's impossible for me to know how much is variance and how much is bad play).

    6. You say you are playing tight - 90% of the new players who post on this site say they play tight but when we review their tourneys we find that in fact they're playing too loose. Not saying this is necessarily your issue but that is my experience. (Again, post some hands/tourneys for advice).

Thanks for the advice taipan, I read the majority of that FTR SnG experiment it was very helpful thanks for being a part of that.

I will play a tournament to the best of my ability and post the history to help you pinpoint the leaks, thank you

I also started out recently with 1,20$ SNG's on pokerstars.( Before i played the O,25 45 participants SNG's. ) I prefer the one with 27 participants and find it relatively easy to land ITM. ( Altough i only played like 100 games) Maybe you should take a shot at these sng's...

Sometimes I think when you play the smaller stakes the caliber of players you're playing aren't as high. So they are not going to be pushed off a small hand lke pocket 4's preflop. However you must remeber this and take advantage of the players when you find them. More important is that you have to keep grinding out the smaller stakes until you figure what works for you. There are many styles of play and you will have to adapt your to the smaller stakes. I play the smaller stakes and it is very frustrating sometimes.
