I think your problem started long before this hand.

You should have shoved this preflop, as played you can't fold.

    Experimenting, with no success.

Was following the 19 hand theory, which indicates to call preflop to 4xBB. Obviously need to modify my game style.

If you are playing this hand, you are definitely shoving or folding, there is no middle ground here. What to do depends on your reads on MP - tight or loose. Without a read I tend to just fold here and look for a spot to open shove.

In your position I think I would push over here. You need to double up and this may be your best chance. I haven't played at this level for awhile but I would guess you have some fold equity and thus folding and open pushing is a good thought too. First in vigorish is so important in SNGs. Also posting any read on villian can be helpful.

I wish I could slap your wrist nunnery style for smooth calling pre-flop. Please don't do this. You definitely do not want to get multiway with your 33 here. Either push over or fold.

As played you are obviously pot commited. I agree with the others read through the SNG Digest, some really great posts in there, and keep posting hands. Really that is the best way to improve your game.

With M under 5, you must never call. It's push or fold. Personally I'm more inclined towards pushing. With effective M* only 2.5 you will have bled out of chips very soon if you don't make a stand now. 33 is actually a slight favourite over most unpaired high cards.

*effective M is M that takes into account the table being short. Since you have post blinds more frequently than at full table, your M is smaller than it looks. In your case there's half of the field left, so the effective M is 4.73 * 0.5.

How does he have any fold equity here when MP has already readsed it up 4x... and he's only sitting on 7x (in other words... he doesn't).
I'd say.. fold or shove (player read dependent).
As far as the comment.."Never call".... if you were sitting in the blinds here you might want to consider calling and pulling a Sto'nGo because you wouldn't have any FoldEquity on your push to a 4x preflop rs. here. So.. just call and shove any flop.

is 44 a good hand to pull a stop and go with? i mean the only time he's going to call is with better hands and we rarely fold out worst hands once the flop hits. i feel like we're better off just flipping from the get go. i like doing a stop n go moreso with hands like KJ where best case scenario is flipping (and we're often behind), but a) our hand improves on the flop often and b) we can get 77- and missed broadways (in other words a lot of better hands) to fold often to our stop n go. i guess a doesn't matter because we're pushin' any flop but it makes it sound better lol

IMO, this is a standard fold Pre. mainly because of the lack of fold equity because of your stack. 33 is only a coin flip against over cards (which is almost assuredly what's in his hand) and only dominates 1 PP (22).

I don't mind open shoving pre because you have more fold equity against people who haven't put any money in the pot yet and if they do call with overs (same situation only reversed.) then you still have a hand to get lucky with. Basically, shoving over here is bad because you have no fold equity and can almost bet that you're flipping or dominated...even with your small M, there is better spots...imo
