Default 1 cent 990 seat sit and go at pokerstars

i like to play the 1 cent hyper-turbo sit and go while i'm waiting on a $1 tourney.i usualy dont do very well though you only start with 500 chips and yhe blinds go up every 3 mins.how loose should i be on my starting hands?any advice on any of the aspects of 1 cent sit and go's would be greatly appreciated! should i just avoid them all together? thanks yall

Learn EV and play according to that. Learn to place opponents on ranges and download poker stove (its free). Your starting stack and how often the blinds go up really doesnt matter as long as your moves are +EV. GL

Not sure how much these are like the 3.80 ST on FT... 300 starting chips and 2 min blinds I think, so maybe I am off here. I find those are mainly just a shove game much like when you are shortstacked in a reg tourn. Your starting stack and blind structure absolutley matters in all tourneys. I found being tight was the best move for these tournies. People generally only called, IMO, with ATs+, 55+, KQs+. So find a range of hands that does well against that and play accordingly. Also watch who calls shoves light or shoves light themselves.

On a side note... I stopped playing these b/c it would take a long time to show a consistant profit at these as the swings can be quite massive. Then again for a penny..... it might be worth it if only to work on your short stack SnG play.

go all in with high live cards, sooted connectors. this is pretty much of luck. i think that tourney is not quite different than a lottery. the situation gets worse as you wait longer. have fun!

That sit & go too fast there would be the best strategy to achieve the greatest possible amount of chips to the top after which the blind do not you.

They are a Push Shove contest.

Make sure they are not effecting your normal play in a negative way.

If so then I think it would be best to avoid them and focus reading FTR Forum topics as you are waiting. I can guarantee you will get more from them than a 1 cent Tourney.

I agree the 1 cent hyper turbo is crazy, it's all a crap shoot, get lucky and hit big early and you can start playing real poker, but the ante's start in the first level, so you need to make a move early or your stack will shrink fast. Posittion is also key, start out in the BB and kiss the tourney goodbye
