    Default 10-30bbs in a 3 table 1+.20 stars SnG

Last night I played a few 27 player SnGs over at stars for a dollar.
In all three games, my cards were just really dry and the one in twelve hands that I can play flop air.

My question is, when I'm looking at 1000 chips in front of me at a t50bb- how should I be playing preflop?

Am I loosening up, even though I'm not pushing with a reasonable hand? Or do I just ride it out conservativly until I get down to under 10bb and THAN push?

Best thing is to post some hands or maybe even the section of the tourney you are concerned about. It's very hard to give advice in a vacuum.

agree with Tai on posting hands, but "in general" one of the best things that really helped in my SNG development was learning to not panic when I don't get cards early on in the tourney.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

If you are that card dead then you should still have over 1300 chips at the 25/50 level. I think one common mistake is to try and play small ball in these. Your chip stack relative to the structure just isn't deep enough. IMO, you need to sit tight and wait for decent starting hands, especially early. As the blinds get higher (and everyone else tightens up) then start grabbing some chips by playing position hard if the deck stays cold.

Not panicing is one of the key things i still have to master when playing sng's. When i'm carddead the little voice in my head starts telling me i ain't gonna make it. That's when i start doing stupid things. In reality there's still some time to make a move.
