Default Would you shove this one?

    Hi all,

This is from a 1,2 SG at CDPoker (10 max). I was UTG and shoved with KJs. In restrospect, I think it was a wrong move with 5 people to talk. If someone has unpaired cards he probably has A-x...which is not good for me.

However, I ran ICM calculation and, apparently, it was a right move. According to the results, I should shove with 18.1% (33+ A7s+ A5s-A2s ATo+ K9s+ KJo+ Q9s+ QJo J9s+ T9s). Of course it all depends on opponents calling ranges. According to ICM, the calling ranges recommended are very tigth in this situation (a maximum of 9.4% in the case of the BB). The button called with a hand just out of his recommended range.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $200.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Button ($2315)
    SB ($4985)
    BB ($1640)
    Hero (UTG) ($1470)
    MP ($2880)
    CO ($1710)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, J
    Hero bets $1470 (All-In), 2 folds, Button calls $1470, 2 folds

I think this one is marginal either way, as you say it is very dependent upon calling ranges. However, at a $1.20 tourney I would think that the BB would call wider than 9.4% - he does after all have the 200 BB already "invested" (that's the way they think).
