Default edit: Marginal Spots while cards dead in MTTs.

I seem to be at a consistant argument with myself over these types of spots, not specifically the posted hands. They seem to be hands that would normally play well against a typical villains calling range.

If your shortstacked and card dead. Are these 60/40 typically dominated hands +EV in the long run? Or is it best to grind it out and wait for something a little better?

These look totally fine to me.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

you can shove a lot wider in hand 1. hand 2 is a little closer but still fine

I feel like there should be a "supply and demand" curve where it could show the balance of push vs reward in MTTs.

you can either make your own charts or buy kill everyone/NLHET & P / TPFAP or google.

Here is a leak in my game I hope someone can fix

I thought about starting a new thread for this but since its such a noob question/easy to figure out. I just for the life of me cant find anything.

per advice, I went to barns and noble and bought TPFAP. There is an example in here I cant work out. It makes sense, I just dont know how Sklansky got this number:

We have JJ on the BB and $500 behind, with a BB of $100...

SB large stack bets $600 to move us in, giving us 5:7 on our money. We need to be a 41.67% fav to make this call.

How the hell did he come up with that 41% number?!?!

    5/(5+7) ~ .4167

Converted to a percentage (x100) we get: 41.67%
