Default BB w T3o + limpers, flop 2TQ rainbow, everyone checks

Should I have not bothered with this, or was it worth a shot? Whole table was pretty loose passive, it had been checked to the river in a previous hand with multiple limpers.

I wouldn't bother betting the turn, just check it down and show your hand down cheap. When you're first to act in a $5.50 tournament with loose/passive players, I don't think you have a lot of fold equity here. Maybe take a stab for 1/3 pot or something on the river if the turn checks through.

If I did bet the turn it would be more like 90 instead of 180.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

I don't think you have a lot of fold equity here.

I'd just check it down and maybe call some idiots' river bluff trying to pick up the pot with A2/A4 as there are no scarecards(Q on the turn would have been bet on the flop most likely).

I really don't like putting chips in on hands like these. Too many times I've tried to pick up a pot with weak hands from the BB, while most of the times you get flatcalled and then you really don't know where you're at. Scarecard comes up and then?? Like tai said, we have no fold equity as they're loose/passive and I don't really see a point in value betting this.

While checking down with these kinda hands are more +EV imo as you can pick up, and call a weak (if it's a relatively small bet) bluff when there are no scare cards on further streets imo.
Remember you are on the BB and you're playing a hand you would never play if you had the choice pre flop. I just don't like to risk money on these hands imo(vs loose/passive players that is), I'd be happy to show it down and take that small pot.

If it was a tag or decent sng player I'd probably also bet that 1/2 pot on the turn because he's actually capable of folding, hands calling you most likely have you beat. Did he have KTo or something :P

You want to bet into three $5.50 players when you're OOP? That said, I agree with the smaller bet if you are going to bet. I'd rather bet the river if it checks through on the turn though.

    Fair point.

I would bet turn for value, you probably have the best hand. You also want weak draw hands to fold or chase incorrectly. I would probably bet 120-140

Thanks for the replies. He had JTo. It seems that whenever I bet the turn (after a bluff on the flop or a situation like this), 90% of the time I end up worse off, so I think I'll err on the side of check fold and call a small bet on the river if its checked, unless I'm against a single tight opp or something. I definitely agree with the smaller bet size though if I do bet.
