Default JJ from SB with short stack limper

Should I have just pushed this, or even gone with a 3-bet? I wanted him to call so I bet his stack instead of pushing. Would he be more likely to call this than a push or wouldn't it matter? Should I be worried about him limping a monster given his stack size? He had been pretty passive and limped a couple hands before without betting post-flop.

I'm not sure what you mean by "going with a 3-bet". A 3-bet is a re-raise of a previous raise, so you can't 3-bet here. Did you mean a 3BB bet?

I don't want to shove all-in with the big stack to act behind me. You have a lot to lose if he wakes up with a hand.

I don't like the 8BB raise either. What will you do if BB shoves over? Or if he calls and an A, K, or Q comes on the flop?

So my plan is to make a standard raise here. I would make it a bit bigger than 3BB to avoid giving BB pot odds. Around t350-t400, I think.

I agree with Wolle, I'm making it 350 to go here and re-evaluating what to do depending on what action occurs and what comes on the flop. Once you raise 1/3 of your stack you can't fold to a shove over by the BB (not that you would necessarily if you raised a smaller amount, but at least you have the option).

Yeah, I meant a standard raise. Looking at it again it seem like a pretty obvious thing to do, but at the time I wasn't sure, Thanks.
