    Default pretty thin?

what's your range. I haven't seen UTG do this ever, so I may be treading in deep water. SB is a call station. I'm short on chips and a triple up would be beautiful right now.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00+$0.20 Tournament, 75/150 Blinds (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP1 (t4005)
    MP2 (t1295)
    CO (t3235)
    Button (t5365)
    SB (t1705)
    Hero (BB) (t860)
    UTG (t4550)
    UTG+1 (t2015)

    Hero's M: 3.82

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7, 6
UTG bets t300, 5 folds, SB calls t225, Hero raises to t860 (All-In),

I don't particularly like it, you don't have much fold equity here and your hand will usually not play well against their calling range. I can see shoving this hand if it was folded to me, maybe, depending on the players on the blinds.

This seems horrible, even if SB folds you need 35% equity against UTG to get all-in, which you probably don't have, sometimes SB doesn't fold and then you're really screwed.

I think a lot of people just give up when they get short, your results will be a lot better if you keep taking the tournament seriously and look for good spots.

nah, I wasn't giving up. I saw 5bbs in the pot already (almost the size of my stack). I knew that I didn't have much FE. I talked myself into a shove, hoping they had overlapping face cards for a chance at tripling up. I knew I'd likely be a dog. (Not to mention, shoving the button and CO wasn't so safe either, as I knew the guys to my left were calling pretty wide.)

For future reference, what is your shoving range here?

if this was suited I would say going with it isn't terrible, although still pretty bad. UTG will for sure call this if he has a brain and SB will have a nice pot to call into as well.

You shouldn't be thinking "here is a great opportunity for me to be a dog and triple up". You'll have a little over 600 chips and a full orbit to find a better spot with no antes. Sure, it might not be a triple up shot but ill take the risk to find better equity on my AI.

    this is quite terrible.

I used to think the same way. Only if you're super short (1-2 BB) and blinds are approaching, but here you've got almost 6. Surely you can get it in better with as many chips as you've got.

I think the aggressive spirit is +EV though, even if this hand wasn't.

Pretty gross. This is a spot where you're like almost never flipping and you'll be lucky if UTG just has AK. You're basically donating.

Against a loose LP raiser and loose SB caller I could see shoving 87s+ because you'll be 45/55 flipping if SB folds once in a while.
