    Default First hand mayhem

When you're playing a 2.20 180man on Stars, what are you calling a first hand shove with? (let's assume that you have no prior history vs villian)

This comes from a recent hand of mine. It was the very first hand of the tournament. I had JJ. I raise an early limper while I'm in MP making it 100 to go---standard. The CO shoves over. No one else calls and the action is on me. Is this a fold or call? What is our calling range?

I am only calling here with AA or KK

I love that article. I remember the first time I read it - right before I fired up a few MTTs, I got all in with QQ on two tables vs AK and ended up going deep in both events

I had forgotten about that article and it does make a lot of sense.

I love open-shoving JJ+ when I wake up with one on Hand #1. That's it though, maybe AK, but when I'm 100+/- BB, I like to shove big pairs, not AK. Nobody's gonna see me shove enough on Hand #1 to exploit that though, I think.

Im folding JJ and AK to a first hand AI. However, I could see an argument being made for pushing them.

For sure thats a great article but you have to think about what hands are actually flipping against that type of range (AK almost never).
