Default Strange spot with A8o in BTN, 4 handed, shortstacked

Without the limper, I would shove ATC in this spot. But with the big stack limping, I figured his range was extremely loose here and if called I would still be the favorite. Yet, when I put it into SnG Wiz, even putting his open and call% ranges at 100%, it is still a VERY -EV push. I can't figure out why, I am shortstacked, I need chips fast

Adjust the calling ranges of the SB and BB...The issue is the SB and BB are about in as bad of shape as you are. You want to collect their equity instead of you giving them yours...If It was folded to you I think this would be a profitable push.

If you're called and a favorite based on cEV it does not necessarily mean you will be based on $ev. So even though the limpers range is wide, he's got a massive stack - losing some chips doesn't hurt him as much as it does for you, and after taking $ev into account SNG whiz has therefore determined this to be a -$ev push based on ICM. However ICM has it's limitations, as it does not factor in the blind hitting you soon etc...

If someone could clarify these points before you take them that would be great...being a cash grinder I'm just getting into SNG's as of recently so I'm not sure if I understand it all correctly. If I said something that's out of line I would appreciate if someone spoke up about it

I ran it in SNG Wiz and the reasons I think it is -EV are as follows:

    - The big stack will almost never fold to a shove after limping.
    - Since he almost never folds, you're right that you are ahead of his range. However, the bubble factor is very powerful here. Even if he has ATC, you're 60/40 against his range which isn't enough to compensate for the ICM effect.
    - SNG Wiz also takes into account the chance that if you fold, the blinds will shove and lose, putting you ITM.
