It felt like a pot committed issue. On the river, I'm getting ~2:1. Plus, there goes half of my stack right out of the window.

You'll still have the M of almost 20, which is quite healthy. So you don't have to feel "pot committed". (It's a rather stupid concept anyway.)
Pot odds are about 1:2.7. If you think he has that heart at least 73% of the times, it's a good fold.
(Actually you should be even more tight with calling this, since the chips you can win in a tournament are worth less than the ones you can lose.)
