    Default Grinderschool Seeking SNG Instructor

Glitlr, the head SNG instructor at Grinderschool, recently decided that he will be leaving the site to pursue some new major opportunities for furthering his poker career. That leaves us with an opening. Xianti and I agreed that FTR's SNG base would be a good spot to seek a replacement.

If you are interested in joining Grinderschool as an SNG Instructor, please email me with details of your history with the game. Send emails to [email protected]

I will need your usernames on the sites you play on in order to verify your results via Sharkscope. Applicants should have demonstrated success up to at least the $16 turbos or the $22 normal speed games. Experience in other SNG structures (like multi-table SNGs, super-turbos, HU SNGs and DoNs), as well as in non-hold'em forms of poker are a plus.

I will ultimately seek a sample video from any promising applicant before they join the team. Pay will be commiserate with your qualifications and abilities as an instructor, however keep in mind that we are a site targeting low stakes players. We seek to provide an affordable way for players to dramatically advance while they are starting out. If you're interested only in the money, this may not be a good fit.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this opportunity.

Thanks for the nominations - I'd love to do it if I had enough time, but unfortunately the GFC has meant that work has become somewhat all-consuming. Same for the SNG videos that I've wanted to do for ages...

Also seems to have a lot of patience, which I guess is pretty important for teaching.

Yes, global financial crisis. I'm in private equity, so I've got all sorts of interesting discussions to have with various parties at the moment...

    Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

Tai and I have talked several times in the past. I believe that he knows he has a standing invitation to join the GS team if his life-situation ever changes in such a way that he can do so.

I am talking with a number of others as a result of this post, some very promising. I'll keep you updated as the details get worked out and we find out who will be joining for the long haul.

I am not good at getting jokes. This is one right?

I average 35% ROI, but SNGS is just a side game for me.

Besides, I would tilt subscribers with my style of writing.

Thanks either way, intended as a joke or not.

Edit: There is a fair chance you meant someone else with a similar name.

Oh, not being on the team doesn't necessarily protect anyone from being invited to the podcast. We will eventually run out of coaches to interview...

Currently it's looking like we're going to move from having one main SNG coach to a team of coaches with a variety of skills. Will post more once everything is finalized.

Triptanes (I will never recognise the new name) should do a podcast on a new werewolf forum.

Taipan we wanna hear your accent on a podcast.

You'll hear my accent when I finally get around to doing the SNG videos for FTR that I've been wanting to do for ages. I basically sound like bjsaust on his videos except that I speak more quickly.

    +1 to this.

Reasons has coached me since May and been a huge help. If you have any questions as to who I am and the advice he has given, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help clarify. I know reasons is mostly an 18m player, so not sure if they are strictly looking for a 9m coach or not.

I usually post on four, so this is my first post here.

Reasons was in today's podcast, sounds like he's the new guy.

And hopefully doesnt mumble as much .

Weird, I just realised I've never heard Taipan speak. We really need to catch up if you're down in Melbourne for any reason!

    Hi guys,

As Spenda said, Reasons14 was announced as our new lead SNG instructor on the 1 September episode of the GS Poker Podcast - free for everyone at podcasts.grinderschool.com

That's only part of the story though. We're bringing in a team of SNG instructors. Reasons will cover basic 9-man turbo games, but will also provide a unique and highly skilled view on multitable SNGs. Providing support for him will be a number of experienced FTR players: TLR will cover higher-stakes turbo SNGs and some non-hold'em cash games, GatorJH will cover non-turbo games, and Nakamura will cover low-stakes turbos and DoNs.

I think that with FTR's help, the loss of Glitlr might just turn out to be a slight gain to the SNG section of Grinderschool. No one could replace him, but we just might be able to do more than fill his shoes with the team we're bringing now!

    Cheers,
