    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A, J
    2 folds, Hero bets t2050, 4 folds, SB calls t1650, 1 fold

id fold here, obv the BU is pushing a wide range .. BB maybe AK or any pocket pair .. you might have him crushed but in a small chance he turns QQ here .. i think you have plenty of chips left to take advantage of them in a better spot

Ugh theres just so many assumptions you can make that you can never be sure. Its too bad you don't have more info/history, but I'd lean towards fold from what stove is telling me. Can't argue for calling based on a loose image since its only been 8 hands. Should be pretty sure BTN's range is wider than average since its clear from 1st hand he's a spazz (14% reasonable?)

I don't think you can make any assumptions about BB other than guess a range. TT+ AK seems about right and even with discounted AA/KK you still don't hit the 40% mark vs both their ranges. Seems to be able breakeven if you give SB 14% and BB TT+ AQ+ with heavily discounted AA and KK

we don't care much about Button's range. I think his iso range is probably looser than his calling range so I'd range him much more at something like top 5% of hands (88+/AQ+). I get it in here.

I probably would never play QQ+ this way if I'm BB and BU is dead money so I don't like it but call.

    I fold fwiw.

I'd call. You're 48-52 against 99+ AK and I can't imagine he's any tighter than that, with the dead money and the whale that you're obviously way ahead of it should be a call.

Also, baudib, what else is the BB going to do with QQ+?

I don't think I can find a fold here. I think we see AK/88/99/TT (or worse) here very often. I can't see the BB blowing us out of the water with that raise when he has kings or aces. Queens is about the only hand that both makes sense and is beating us.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

ugh just realized my way is wrong since obviously we can still win chips if BTN beats us. is it better to just ignore him and consider it dead money?

btw baudib is saying he would flat QQ+

Flatting in villain's spot with QQ+ is just so terrible if hero can hand read at all, I'd only do that against the biggest fish.

mcat you're right, it looks ridiculously strong to flat. I had just been reading a guy talking about using stack sizes to make moves like this (reraising 5x initial raise, effectively pot-committing hero) with lesser hands.

Why not just play good poker instead of making theoretically bad plays and praying that it throws your opponents off?

It's in a book about chip utility and using various stack sizes against smaller stacks.
