The rate of new HIV/AIDS infections is on the decrease but it won't be long before it's whooped Hitler on the bodycount, if it hasn't already.

I feel like dying to a great disease is the same as dying to a great human human-killer. It's a hardship/challenge that life brings you, and you die to it. If you and 6 million others die to either a disease or a person, I really don't think that's the point. Hitler could have killed 400 million jews over a 70 year lifespan. AIDs could jump-the-shark and kill 400 million people by New Years 2015. People and peoples lives are wholly ineffective metrics for 'worse.' And I haven't the slightest clue on how to meaningfully measure these two against each other.

My vote is Hitler, because of his Charlie Chaplin mustache.

Edit yuck, I wish I picked AIDs. By which way I would less like to die, man or disease, I gotta say I want to avoid Hitler's death camps. Having another man look me up and down and say "Jew? *points* Furnace." Fuck that. I hate to know that I could have died that way, that people died that way. But AIDs is an almost unknowable enemy. Keeping your enemies closer is easy when your enemy is a person. Relate-able and understandable. But AIDs just rolls, rides until it dies. And we haven't the slightest sense on how to kill it. Hitler at least had the decency to fucking die when he killed himself. AIDs doesn't even give us that.

While Hitler was more focused, as well as more creative, AIDS is elegant as a killer.

Gotta go with the AIDS... there was a cure for hitler, there isn't one for aids yet... but you can avoid AIDS... well, I suppose you could have avoided hitler too... so still gotta go AIDS>

This might well be true but I didn't quote it as such as I heard that cases of new infections were on the decline.

Mengele may not be worse than Hitler in the sense that Hitler gave Mengele his power, but goddamn Mengele was FUCKED UP. The man performed non-anesthetic, 'experimental' surgeries on children every fucking day, and without a drop of remorse. It's one thing to harm people by signing a document, but it's another to harm people with your bare hands

There are still some interesting matchups left, but there is one side that once used should never lose. Kinda doubt it will be used though.

As far as AIDS goes, this is one of the less bad of the major diseases. There may be no vaccine, but it's no longer a huge death threat if you have money. The problem with AIDS now is pretty much all Africa. AIDS has killed about 25 million, while Hitler is responsible for 50-70 million deaths (WWII and Holocaust)

Personally I just don't think AIDS is that interesting. There are diseases out there that will fucking blow your mind at how insanely fucked up they are, but AIDS is not one of them (I think it has killed the most people, but other than that, its fucked up scale is pretty low). The fucked up ness of AIDS comes from things like virgin rape. But the thing is that Africa wouldn't be much less fucked up without AIDS anyways. We point at rape due to AIDS superstition, but don't realize that most of the rape would still happen without AIDS. Rape is actually a very proliferate aspect of poor, anarchistic societies. Being a woman and not having a high likelyhood of getting raped is actually a phenomenon of massively civilized societies. I would bet a lot of money that all of us have a deep ancestry of raped mothers. That's just how it works in male dominated societies that rise and collapse over resources. We see little rape in our society (even though it's likely still a big number like 15-20% of women) because of womens rights and militaristic stability

Surely though the original question Hitler Vs. HIV/AIDS was "which is worse" not which was more fucked up. Because there are other more fucked up diseases this shouldn't directly affect your vote on the original question.
