Multi-streets with 10-10 ($16 turbo)

    Default Multi-streets with 10-10 ($16 turbo)

    villain is 23/14 over 44

I flat pre b/c there are going to be a ton of flops that bring overs and I can exercise some pot control against a villain who is opening semi-wide that may not be folding a ton preflop

I raise the flop b/c I figure he c-bets a lot, and there are a lot of hands we are beating at the moment.

I fire the turn again because I figure I can get value from all his underpairs and A highs + charge flush/straight draws etc Looking back I think if this is my reasoning I should probably bet around 2/3 pot...

I check river b/c I think its a situation where I've either won enough or lost enough...

    thoughts on all streets appreciated

I think I would flat here and see what he does on the turn.

If you are going to raise, I agree you should raise more, he's never folding to your slightly more than min raise (he's getting 4.5 to 1 on the call!), so all you're doing is bloating the pot with a hand that you're unsure whether is good or bad.

As played, I think I check behind on the turn and hope for a cheap showdown. I don't think that betting the turn is the best way to achieve pot control (hence enabling you to call a reasonably sized river bet if he does lead the river).

yah I remember that 77 hand and I guess they hold the same relative value as my 10's do here...

I just figured I would bet the turn because there are still a ton of drawing hands that he could have as opposed to hands he is hoping to get to showdown after he calls my flop raise.

I think that when he has an overpair he usually just re-raises/ships flop, (as opposed to shipping safe turns) so I think his range after calling my flop raise are flush draws, K-10, Q-10, J-10, K-J, Q-J, A-J and K-Q.

(I included Q-10 and K-10 in his preflop raising range b/c of his stats)

I've also found that by betting the turn in this spot, poor villains check the river with their huge hands trying to "trap", so my turn bet actually kind of acts as somewhat of a delayed defensive blocker bet for the river.

I think your logic would be correct if you had a hand that is likely to be best but is vulnerable to draws (eg. if you had AJ in this spot) as opposed to one that may already be behind (eg. if opp has something like JT). If you're not reasonably certain that your hand is already best then I think that the argument about "protecting" has more validity.

Just to manage the size of the pot, I'd rather check behind on the turn and be able to call a small river bet than bet the turn and be priced in (but do damage to your stack) if opp leads the river.
