Default QJo, J high flop, opp overbet shoves ($1.25)

I'm curious though what you think of how the villain played here.

Villain is 18/7 over 76 hands. With his preflop action I've got him on AK or small pocket pair, thus my call on his AI.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 1.25 Tournament, 250/500 Blinds 50 Ante (7 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    saw flop | saw showdown

    MP1 (t22840)
    MP2 (t23210)
    CO (t9945)
    Button (t27040)
    Villain (SB) (t15745)
    Hero (BB) (t22117)
    UTG (t2260)

    Hero's M: 20.11

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, Q
5 folds, Villain bets t1000, Hero raises to t1500, Villain raises to t2000, Hero calls t500

    Flop: (t4350) 8, J, 4 (2 players)
    Villain bets t13695 (All-In), Hero ????

IMO he played them pretty badly. The inital min-raise isn't too bad as he might get you to raise with worse hands, but once you min-reraise him back, he needs to more than min-reraise back.

BTW, I'm not too sure what you are doing pre-flop. Why the min-reraise of a min-raise? I call here and try to keep the pot small, since we are IP. Personally, I think stacking off on that flop is bad as well, but I don't know what the players are like at $1.25's and what their pushing ranges are here.

I wouln't re-raise preflop. Just flat call his raise - you have position and see if you can flop something nice.

As you played it, with top pair good kicker I would call the shove. Looks just too weird for something that has you beat.

BTW, don't post results please! Just cut off the action either at Villain's move with ???? for your decision or after you've made your call. I've edited your post accordingly.

Heh, well I showed the results in this case because I was more curious as to what you thought of his play not mine. I know my play was somewhat suspect here.

The min-raise was a mis-click on my part I had typed in 4000 but some how clicked the minraise button.

His play was pretty awful. Minraises, especially blind v blind, can often be a premium hand. I guess the thinking is that they don't want to lose their last chance of getting a customer. Its certainly providing a tip to be careful.

I don't like his flop shove either - its the kind of play that makes you wish that you had 44.

Preflop: Flat call there is no point in reraising.
Flop: As played his play is very likely AA/KK
