100nl - QQ as squeezer

My image is probably bad, running 22/19 high steal + 3bet + I've been seen 4bet during the session if he noticed.

Villain and I don't have any history, he's running simliarly to me, 21/15/3 but only a 4% 3bet, 40%ish ATS. This is over 100ish hands. I think he's folded to 2/4 cbets so far (can't remember the exact figure). He's only folded 56% of the time to 3bets.

I feel like no matter what I do here I'm going to get owned..like if he's a thinking player (which I presume given how he's played so far) it's like if I check/call I'm just setting myself up to get barrelled out on the turn whereas if I cbet I'm just going to get floated and not be able to judge his bluffing frequency appropriately at this point and end up c/fing the best hand on the turn after building a pot for him on the flop.

Given that my image is bad what would you guys do? just cbet and give up later? If we keep barreling we seem to just fold out better hands and get towned by better - though better hands are somewhat of a thin range :/

I think you have the best hand a very large amount of the time here. I'm happy to c/c down or bet flop, c/c turn, c/evaluate river. I mean... what is he gonna have that beats you here? By the sounds of it he's going to 4bet/call AA/AK/KK loads, and if he has 55/33 then so be it. I don't think I can fold at any point during this hand on most turns/rivers.

If I c/c turn I think I'd be entirely committed to the hand and would have a hard time getting away from it on any river. Maybe we could cbet flop, c/shove turn since it'll add some balance to my c/shove range so I don't get owned. Like that way I'm not just purely doing it with AK/AA/KK/55/33/pure bluffs - it's easy to play perfectly against this range. And yeah, it may not be ideal in a vaccum, but perhaps it will add value to my entire range - plus if he happens to have me crushed, which we can conclude is unlikely, I'll definately set mysef up to get paid later when he sees me SD QQ taking that line.

It's something I see nolan advocating a lot on DC videos, but I'm not sure if I agree and it's something I've put a lot of thought into (although nolan crushes midstakes games so I'm most likely just missing something...)

You're never really getting called by worse but I guess when you call turn you're committed unless he bets really small on flop/turn.. I mean to some extent it just depends on his bet sizing, if he bets a committing amount on the turn and some backdoor draws turn up you may as well just ship the rest in. If he leaves himself an amount which he can bluff off on the river then call/call is better.... idk, it's a situation which has always confused me but if nolan ships it in on the turn when no better is calling to protect his hand and stop himself from being outplayed on the river then it can't be all bad!

I think Nolan may also be getting at something in regards to image. Like if we take this line and villain has become aware of it, it may lead him to play us more straightforward in the future and allow us to exercise pot control or whatever it is we're trying to accomlish when we're trying to get max value from 2nd pair type holdings OOP. The fact that we're stopping villain from making another FTOP mistake on the turn once we c/r maybe isn't really a big deal if we've already made him make one by calling flop, and another by betting turn (when he holds a worse hand that he will now fold to our c/r). Perhaps without better reads it is the best way to play the hand, and can somehow add value later on. (i.e. if he folds to our turn c/shove he may conclude that is our 'nut line' we take in 3bet pots so we can 2-3 barrel for thinner value later, and we can adjust by taking the c/shove turn line more often as bluffs if for some reason he hasn't reduced his floating frequency)
