Close to bubble table change - opinions?

So I'm deep into a 600 person MTT, fairly close to the bubble (first 80 cash, about 100 left). I have been at the table for a while and have a good read so I'm able to steal from blinds and limpers by being aggressive because the table is passive and increase my lower stack nicely heading into 2nd break.

Scenario was that I suddenly was switched tables to one with mostly much larger stacks than mine. Suddenly I have a hard time stealing because it is no big deal for them to call a 6xBB raise, whereas that is a good chunk of my stack to invest (at about 16BB left).

How do you adjust play? Rock up so you can get some reads and then start the aggression again? Or keep on with the aggression even though it may mean you get knocked out earlier due to not hitting hands on the flop?

Go with a 3x +1 bb per limper standard raise until you get more experienced.

Your adjustment should be steal less (and don't slow play big hands) if you think steals won't work. You lose money on steals but gain value when you have a hand.

The bubble really only matters to you with a super short stack. It also may change the way others play, but you don't know that at a new table.

But, raising 6x is a terrible adjustment to pretty much any condition I can think of so that's what I commented on. And assuming people will call 6x raises because they have a big stack doesn't make much sense.

Thanks for the viewpoint. Raising 6x was used only as an example to illustrate a proportion of raise vs relative stack size. I find that if you raise 3xBB, to those with 50 big blinds or more this is just like limping so they call with a much wider range. Which can actually be a good thing, I suppose. However, if that size of raise means 1/5 of my stack then it changes things.
