I've had some friends in the past who've spent some time on those $3 90plyr.KO's and done okay on them. My experience with them though was >> there are tons of Loose/Agg maniacal spewtard, who are regularly donking off chips/stacks, playing tons of hands, bluffing way too often, ridiculous bet-sizing etc. (alot of noobs, playing early levels as if it were late levels itm, putting alot of emphasis on the KO's instead of on the big picture).
If anything they'll be good for working on patience and maybe somewhat entertaining to see how bad some can play. If I were you I personally wouldn't make my move in this direction (if you're a winning player at 2NL and are builidng a roll... why not stick with that?... work at moving up and adding more tables).
Some other advice (fwiw), if you're relatively new, stick to one or the other (cash games or SNG's). If SNG's, I'd consider playing the 9-plyr. tables and work at them for awhile, then consider playing others (specializing in one particular one at a time I found to be most beneficial).
As Gator said... 'read the sticky section' - - there's alot of great stuff in there!
