Nah. You are the OP. I think you are getting alot of the responses you want, we will leave it at that.

It also is pretty apparent the FTR community area is for the regs to BS and say what they want and flame anyone who might disagree with them on any point. Took me a few threads to figure it out, but I get it.

LOLz. I live with 15 miles of the highest population of PhD per capita in the country, yeah ignorant. Hilarous.
And only the folks in the hills do thier sisters, um Knoxville is in a valley.....doh!
So you live next to smart people...so that makes you smart? It seems to most people on FTR that you're a dumbass that is blindly in love with his country...but whatever, that's cool. You're from the South and that's expected.
Thank you for approving of my right to love my country. I appreciate it.

And as for you last comment. I think it says alot about you, judging and making assumptions about someone based upon thier geographical location. Very insightful and mature.
Kind of funny since the post you made earlier to prove your intelligence was dependent on people making assumptions based on your geographical location.

To straighten you out. My response to Stacks was a joke, primarily being that we are within a few hours drive of each other and live in the same state. As far as the rest of the traffic, take that however you will.

there are great places to live in loads of countries around the world, i doubt that the USA is any exception. Even the world's more egalitarian societies are becoming polarised, germany and new zealand are classic examples of poverty trap cycles becoming rampant, and the gap between rich and poor accelerating.

on a less somber note, the question is flawed cos america ain't a country funny way to incense latin americans etc. Los Estados Unidos. Also, and note that this is from the perspective of someone who has not yet visited the US, doesn't the huge variety within the USA render this question kinda strange - i recall a thread from spoon asking for 'where to live' suggestions a while back that hit this pretty hard.

Haha true. You´re also paying more than half your wage for taxes and several public insurances, trains are on time on the minute and we´re having the 2nd highest school massacre victims per capita altough the gun laws are incredibly strict.

Call it "500 Pounds of Truth"? I'll be watching for sure.
Just call everyone left-wing extremists and it'll be a hit, but you know that already.

"Ghandi! He was a left-wing extremist!"
"Roseanne Barr was also a left wing extremist!"

And when you get rebuffed on Jon Stewart or something, invoke Godwin's law.

It all depends where you live in US. I would much rather live here in FLA than most states. Who wouldnt want to live in sunny Fla.
I think the whole of GB wants to move here by the amount of tourist we get. Other than the fact that Mexicans want to take over my state it one the best places for weather, activities, beauty in the world.

But id rather everyone think that the US is a shitty place to live. We dont need more people moving here. Close the boarders now! So please continue with the US bashing it only help.

Im pretty sure our summers are longer than most major canadian cities, and our winters a tad less brutal, but I could be wrong? Vancouver is probably nicer. But still if Im gonna make a big move I want it to be at the least san fran type of weather, an ideally LA/SD..

Yeah, Americans often think Canada is wayyyyy colder than it actually it. It's true, there are some areas that are really cold in the winter. But some areas are also really warm. The town I live in averages 35°C days in the summer (off my own recollection, dunno if that's official).

Not saying boost is one of them, but I have actually come across Americans that are under the impression that Canada is constantly snowing. This seems to be less common, probably because the internet makes that kind of confusion less likely these days.

Tell you what... I'll trade 'em for all the non-American tourist morons wandering up and down the streets of Santa Monica or Venice on any given summer weekend with their cameras wondering why they haven't bumped in to Vince Vaughn or Julia Roberts. Or who think Dallas is all cowboy hats and oil men. Or New Yorkers are all rude. I'd love to send home all the uninformed, inexperienced stereotards as it would make my life much less congested....

Don't worry guys, in the coming decades, as temperatures increase, Canada will likely be beating away immigrants from US and Mexico.

you should see the Americans we get here in London.

All fat, all wearing "fanny packs", all wearing back packs invariably with a little US flag poking up in case they get lost from their group, all wearing baseball caps, talking really loudly in really annoying voices "wooooow isn't it quaint!!", "Wheres the restroom?" "Can you direct me to Liiiiiiecester Square?"

"No, now fuck off you fat c*nt" This normally works.

Say what you will about the British, but when

    sex = rogering
    crazy = barmy
very ugly butterface = double bagger

you've got yourself a hilarious language

So I tell the swamp donkey to sock it before I give her a trunk in the tradesman's entrance and I have her lick me yardballs.

Michael Caine is too awesome. He became one of my favorites after his role in The Man Who Would Be King.

Also, can a Brit please answer me this: Why are half of you guys named Bovver, and why do you all think that Jenny Agutter the hottest woman on the planet?

Can confirm Michael Caine is a top geezer. Can confirm I know no one called bovver (though did have a mate nicknamed Trouble), and can finally confirm i have idea who J Agutter is, but the bird in your pic is mustard.

me? What who? Who the fuck is Jeff?- is this Brit show I missed?

I'm enjoying Generation Kill (redeemed my faith in American Marines) - though i recon if they just sent 007 in it wall all be sorted.
lol dude im just being a dick.

As an American, I assume that all British people know everything that comes out of Britain. I do wanna know why you guys chose to ruin one of the best shows you ever had

    And Gen Kill is amazing

Yeah, Coupling was very un-Brit comedy. I am normally quite baffled at British humor

Our former VP "invented the Internet" and thus spawned the spread of Internet porn. God bless America!

Nah we'll just convince the rest of the world that they were creating nuclear devices and had to be stopped. So we had to take over the country - to save the world.

    >>sigh<<

people, people... I know it's fun to poke a stick at the large sometimes slow child... and not to come across as partisan, but let's in the name of fairness remind our self-righteous European friends across the pond that...

    - they are responsible for starting the only two truly global wars ever
    - they can claim responsibility for the cluster f-ck that is Pakistan and India, through the brilliant management of independence through completely inept (tho' quite smart looking) politicians like Mountbatten
    - take pride in such fabulous ideas as the Balfour Declaration that nicely set the stage in a usual meddling fashion for the Middle East crap that somehow everyone is looking at the US to solve (?)
    - fully appreciate their handiwork on the African continent, of which there are just to many really neat examples to call out in this post
    - and of course they had nothing to do with Afghanistan, Vietnam, etc -- or at least want nothing to do with it now.

And of course, that's just the last couple of hundred years. I can certainly understand the weight of this much deserved guilt and how it manifests in the need to rebuild self-esteem...

/part tongue in cheek, part not

I know. Also the American press is completely unbiased, very informative, and never takes things out of context. So we got that going for us.... which is nice...
