Default 50nl / River Steal IP

    No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (4 handed)

    Villain is 22/19/60%FCB over 170

    Button ($109.52)
    SB ($18.92)
    BB ($68.17)
    Hero (UTG) ($58.05)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5, A
1 fold, BB bets $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, 1 fold

On this dry flop my plan was to call up to two streets and steal it if checked to on Turn or River depending on board.

    Flop: ($3.50) 7, 2, K (2 players)
BB bets $2.50, Hero calls $2.50

    Turn: ($8.50) 9 (2 players)
BB bets $6, Hero calls $6

    River: ($20.50) J (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero bets $13.88

Having a set gameplan for a hand is bad IMO like "im going to call this and do x and x then x"

Just check back the river, your really not representing much and I'd expect you to get looked up very light here.

Not having a gameplan for a hand would be bad. If you call this flop against most thinking regs you have to be prepared to call a second barrel. Calling the flop and then just do whatever is not going to be profitable.
If you have a note that he double barrels these kinds of boards, I think it's fine, but I'd make the river quite a bit bigger. Do not try to disguise your hand too much. You don't want to give him an excuse to call with Jx or something stupid.

    Probably worded it wrong.
But like deciding "ok this hand i want to bluff him" and doing only that and just totally spewing.
When an action is taken peoples ranges change and you have to adapt during that particular hand.

Didn't mean it in the way that you should just never have a clue what to do

I think its a little spewy mostly because your plan gets messed up if he bets river, and you're forced to jam now as your bluff or give up on your double float.

As for the river, I don't hate it entirely. If you insist on the bluff then I'd bet much bigger though, since there are no draws that you would have, and youre repping a polarized range here. I doubt you'd bet so weak ass if you actually did slow play some monster (which is mostly the only thing you're repping).

Is the Hand history messed up, how can you be UTG and BB bets etc. unless you limped?

As for the bluff, before reading the thread I was pretty sure I was going to write betting the river IP when checked to as a bluff can never be too bad (even though I don't do it enough) because I remember the avg. river check fold at .5 - 1. was 60% so ATC usually show a profit, but this looks like a pretty bad spot, I would fold turn
Currently thinking of a new quote/signature... Some sort of prayer to the Poker gods for enlightment etc..

hah wtf at this hand. I definitely think you have to bet the river but i'd rather raise the turn than call and hope he checks the river to me. I definitely wouldn't recommend doing this too often at stakes where ppl aren't double barreling overly light (unless nl 50 has gotten even tougher than i think)

btw you really should be taking this line (ie. floating with plan to steal on a later street) with a hand that has some kind of equity like a gutter or bd flush. If the 2 was a club then i think it's a bit better since you'd have bd flush and straight which equates to 1 1/2 more outs i think.
