In hand 1, I would fold to his raise. You are going to be very lucky if you have a lower than 45% chance of exiting the SnG and at this stage of the tournament taking that risk is not worth the chance of doubling up.

Hi and welcome to FTR, it's good to have you here!

Hand 1 (55) - your open raise is fine but after you get shoved over I would fold. Even if he shoves very wide you're pretty much flipping a coin against his range. Remember that in a tourney, chips you lose are worth more than chips you gain (the ICM effect).

Hand 2 (KQo) - open raise if you want to play rather than limp. Make it 150 to go. As played, your flop raise is good but I bet a little less on the turn, say 300-350 or so. You want opp to call here not fold!

Hand 3 (95o) - you played it fine, nice move to just call the river minraise

Hand 4 (AKo0 - preflop is fine, but why not just make a normal flop bet of 1/2-2/3 the pot rather than risking your whole stack?

Agree with Tai on hands 1 and 2.

On hand 3 I don't like the river bet. You have a hand that has some showdown value and the only hands beating you that I could see folding to a river bet are 66, T9 and MAYBE 88. This early in a SNG I would have checked the river and probably would have just folded to any bet other than maybe a min bet or slightly larger.

As for hand 4 I am torn between a shove and a check here. I don't like a standard raise because it commits so much of our stack and would put us in a weird position if we get shoved over. Outside of a flush draw this is a fairly dry board so I could see a pp hand like TT or JJ shoving over this sometimes.

Even if we c-bet like 300 we can still fold to raise since we will have 1500t left which is OK with blinds 30/60. I don't think we will be committed there. Checking will lose value imo and let the villian steal the pot. Checking or shoving is worse than c-betting here.

yea, my bad. I actually missed a zero in villains chip stack and thought effective stacks were lower than they were.

Dude you need new reading glasses, you misread this one as well

Hero just runner runner two pair so there are LOTS of hands that he beats that will call a bet. I think he did well to just call the minraise rather than go broke shoving over.

    damn getting old sucks.

OK, so calling is BAD there (on hand 3) because our hand is so well disguised. It worked out for hero in this case, but that is being results oriented. I most likely would have raised there and called a shove as villian having a poorly disguised higher 2 pair (his check on the turn is just horribly bad) is just a cooler.
