Villain seems to be a big winner on the site and only plays 5/10 and up. He runs 24/21/11% 3-bet. There's a huge fish in the game which is the only reason i'm playing so high. Am I nitrolling by even taking 3 seconds before calling? Obviously the only hand that beats me if KQ/KJss though is range PF can be pretty wide because he knows the fish is going to call as well but i can't see any other spade draws that call the flop especially OOP. I also think he might be c/shoving Ksxs on the turn here a bit in the hopes I fold AA/AK.
Suppose i'm only posting this because noone ever posts hands in HSNL and this is only big hand above 5/10 i've played in a while. Fish is the limp/caller obv.

I doubt he would value bet less than a set here, and I'd discount sets a lot because of his play on flop/turn. Which would mean he would need to be turning lots of made hands into bluffs here for you to call, as any draws he calls the flop with are splitting, and I don't think it's a good spot for him to turn a made hand into a bluff (Kx) as he's only folding such a small % of your range that has him beat. I expect he thinks your range is pretty strong here.

I think we're at the top of our range given the action and the board. He's more likely to put us on AK/KQ/KJ/K9/KK/99 than 87s. The only flushes that make any sense for him are KsQs, KsJs, KsTs.

I think its possible he's gotten this far with 55/66 only because the board is extremely dry; I don't think he's bluffing much but we beat a lot of his value shoves. So I can't see folding this getting more than 2-1 for 60bb.

Hmm agree with both of you except i'm not sure elipses that he has a set here that often, that turn is a pretty drawy card for him co c/call no? And why would he pick this river to shove if he is playing it tarpy. I felt like a hand like 78ss that freerolled me is also possible, but we're getting good odds and that is a decent card for him to bluff - it's a pretty puke scenario with AK/AA here, so I did snap it off. Will wait a while to post results.

I think he feels you wouldn't valuebet much on this river and will check it behind but would call him with a wider range if he shoves.

Maybe I'm a nit, but this seems closer to a fold than it does to a snap call, that's for sure.

There's no reason why you can't be double barelling a lot of BD spade draws etc, and you're on the button so no reason you can't have a fair amount of 8x hands.

I also feel like BB might donk lead flop with a lot of his sets etc (that elipse thinks might be shoving for value here, that we beat) since he wants to trap the fish in the middle and won't want to c/r hero and scare fish off.

I think if he did put us on more made hands than draws, then that weights his C/C more towards draws than sets. Also, I think that given the board texture he is unlikely to have a set on the turn (obviously still possible, but it'd just a lot less likely)

He probably knows with a fish in the pot you will play rather straightforward, and I think his flop call can tell us a lot about his hand, I doubt he is calling too light with the fish still to act, with a hand like A6ss for example (or would he?)

Given the turn card a set is less likely to be in his range but can obviously still be there, we can't have been getting freerolled by a hand like 78ss, so I'd say his range is most likely weighted towards Kxss.

However he could also be just pure bluffing knowing your playing this high?

It's pretty marginal, I'd flip a coin. I really doubt he's bluffing though, could be thin value but thats being optimistic.

I think his most likely holding is KsQs here, followed by 78/88. Would be vvvvvv. surprised to see a set here or Kx turned into a bluff.

Thx for all the good replies. I guess it was even a bit closer than I thought. I called, he had KdJd for top pair and bd fd on flop turned into a bluff.

On a side note, what do you think the best play for him on the turn w/KJdd is? Also do you think he played the hand well?
