Default Small pair facing turn check-raise, oh n0ez!

I suppose this goes against the rule of not going broke with 1 pair while playing small pps or SCs. Also perhaps we should reevaluate the idea that the turn check-raise is always da nutz.

I mean, is this guy representing anything here other than air? His hand seems to be utterly face-up.

Preflop and flop I consider standard, I thought about checking back the turn but I didn't want him to get to the river cheap and represent whatever big card falls.

Reads: He was limping a lot. I won a medium pot off him in a blinds battle where my 33 rivered a straight on an ace and he paid me off with A6.

edit: Would you ever consider playing a big pair like this, it'd be such a mind-fuck.

Fold PF, flop bet is good, turn is an easy check behind, as played you pretty much have to call and try to hit a flush or a six. Nothing wrong with playing a big pair like this against people who are going to mindlessly bet their small pairs on the turn without thinking about what they can get called by (sorry).

Of course he can, and he usually does. He called your flop bet in a 3-way pot, what are you putting him on, A high? And then you're betting again on the turn? Did you actually expect A high to call you down for 3 streets?

I don't think its unrealistic to put villain on AK/AQ after calling the flop bet at low stakes. But AK/AQ likely wont call down especially when you bet 800 into 1100. He likely has an overpair with this line. Call and fold unless you hit trips or a flush

Thanks guys, I suppose the key point regardless of result is that the turn bet is really awful, considering i have a weak hand and i'm bloating the pot instead of taking a card to improve.

I still think this turn check-raise just totally reeks of air, I can't imagine an overpair not just shoving the turn.
