    Default DON hand

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 20.8 Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 40 Ante (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Im new to DONs as Full Tilt doesnt have them. Also read Nakamuras guide which was really helpful. Well so far so good cashed every time but once I think.

But this came up. Any suggestions?

    MP (t2175)
    CO (t2715)
    Button (t3110)
    SB (t3415)
    BB (t1375)
    Hero (UTG) (t2210)

    Hero's M: 2.63

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J, A
    5 folds

    Total pot: t640

    Was this a shove?

As shown I did fold and made the money but comments welcome as this seemed a tough spot..

    I fold in this spot.

I just checked in Wiz and even if you give most opps fairly tight ranges of TT, AQo+, AQs+ (some will be tighter, some looser) and the BB a range of 20% (it's probably wider than this), it's only a push with KK+.

The short of it is you are going to be punished for pushing in these spots. Most times you'll get away with it, but the times you are called will be devastating - mostly due to the flat payout structure. You also have to take into account the BB is so short, he really needs to make a move first. I let him gamble first and see where we stand after that.

Yeah I thought it was a fold. I'm just so short.

I'm getting my head around these. It might be early days but they seem pretty easy. Get a few chips early and you can sit comfortable for a while.

Also blind stealing is so easy if u pick on the right people. Even short stacks fold when in a SnG they would be correct to call with ATC purely due to the structure which is pretty interesting.

I also agree with maintaining fold equity. I get the impression (which I can understand) that people fold stronger hands so I can push a hell of a lot wider when short. Would you agree with this? It's an interesting dynamic as position almost becomes irrelevant at certain points as people are playing so tight.

I would agree that with most of your points. If you pick on the right people, your cards matter much less. If the are only calling with AA or KK, then it doesn't really matter whether you are pushing 96s or 88.

As for folding, people are correct to fold a lot of hands. Some people will take this to the extreme, while others will completely disregard the payout structure and continue to call as if in a SNG.

Position isn't as important as in a SNG, but it's still important. If you push UTG you now still have get this raise past at least 5 people. GL if one of them has KK or AA.

seems like something is wrong with the convertor you use
