    Default MTT leaks

    Hi guys,
I am now playing for one year seriously poker and am trying to identify my leaks.
    My leaks imo are mainly:
    - not patient enough
    - Not opening my range enough when tournament progesses
    - Not bluffing enough (folding to 3 or 4 bet) too much

Can you please let me know how you find your leaks and what you do to solve / identify them.

    Thanks

Start reading more about tourneys-Harrington on Hold'em for starters. Your comments about your leaks make no sense. -Not bluffing enough(folding to 3 or 4 bet)too much?? At the mirco-level early in the tourney 99% of the time its AA/KK. Bluff why. My point is there are so many different parts to a tourney that what may be a leak in one part is OK in another. Read about bubble play, read about end game/final table. You first have to find what part of a tourney you stuggle at.

I understand your issues in MTT badboy. Patience is tough, especially in a large field of players where the tourny so many hours long. The key to patience is understanding what kind of situations you are looking (for example: waiting for a big hand to play a large pot with or an opportunity to switch to more agressive play) and wait.

Not loosening up can be an issue as well. Some will say to loosen up when the antes kick in but you really have pay attention to when tight play is no longer profitable and when opportunities to earn many more chips arise.

Not bluffing is more of problem in Mtts than some would believe, the point of the touny is to get all of the chips, and it cant be done waiting around for the nuts. however, folding to 3 and 4 bets in small buyin tournys may be the right decision most of the time because players are less likely to be just making a move at those levels.

To find leaks in your on game, you should pay attention to where you having trouble in a tourny or hand to hand situations and try out different ways on handling it.

Another thing is to pay attention to your strengths in poker, then you will know what situations in tournys you will be most successful instead of getting involved in the wrong hands or players.

A common leak I see is not knowing how to play different stack sizes. Make sure your not set-mining with <40bb stacks, defending liberally with 15-20bbs, 3bet/folding on <30bb stacks, playing too tight with 10bbs
