Default EV calculation deep in tournament

    Hi Guys,
After playing a session i am now calculating some of my bigger pots from an EV positive or negative point of view.
However i sometimes still have problems to make certain moves which are marginal +EV deep in a tournament (past the bubble) and prefer to wait for imo beter hands.
I would really appreciate to hear what your thoughts are and how you approach this.

I think it comes down to what you want your expected growth to be, not just + or - EV. I think if you take all +EV plays you will always net profit. However I don't think this means you maximized your potential growth.

Smaller EV lines normally add more variance where your bigger edge plays are more stable. Its a risk vs reward situation. I do think it is +EV to fold some +EV lines but you have to understand why you are doing it and where your EV is going to come from if you pass up an opportunity.

you also have to figure that part of going deeper in the post-bubble period is collecting the blinds and antes. this will require raising preflop with hands that are not monsters, in hopes that ev1 folds. players who are risk aversive are less likely to take down the tourney.
