Default Top pair+nfd on scary board, bubble

Pretty sure I played this hand badly. I was only playing this level cuz I had some $75 tokens from satellites.

Villain in this hand was reasonably tight...He was limping some crap into my BB as well as some monsters, he also shoved over a couple times, so I sorta felt this standard raise here was actually suspicious.

I felt ridiculous cuz I played this entire hand so weak tight but I felt certain that he wouldn't cbet without a big part of the flop.

I'd probably just shove back preflop if opp had been aggressive. Has he been open shoving with 22x BB effective stacks?

As played, I am shoving over on the flop for sure. I do not like calling because if he shoves the turn you're priced in to call and you've got almost half your stack in the pot already.

I would not shove back over the big stack when there are two relatively short stacks on the bubble.

I would definitely shove over on the flop. worst case scenario you have 9 outs.

sometimes shove, most of time fold preflop but never call.
Calling in this spot is spewing chips

I tend to fold or jam in these spots. Although calling seems like a decent idea, IMO it often ends up in weird and difficult spots on the bubble.

I instantly thought a flop shove was a good idea, but I really can't see any worse hands calling. If we call the flop, he may use the bubble as an opportunity to double-barrel with air. Once we call the flop though, we are pretty much committed to the hand, whatever comes out.

While shoving the flop makes the hand easy to play and is +EV, I'm think there is better value in checking. Maybe I'm way off base here though.

If he folds after he commited 2100 chips it is probably the best result for you.

Given the size of the pot I think it is much better to try to take it down then to give him a chance to hit the card that beats you on the turn. any KQJT is a very bad card for you

are we for fold pre then? i thought for sure he was stealing but i get a good flop and i'm not sure if i'm drawing or protecting. i felt pretty confident i had the best hand on the river but it was too ugly to value bet.

I wouldn't fold pre, I'd just ship it back preflop, against a thinking player you have a huge amount of fold equity. Second choice for me is to call as you did, particularly because you have position.

Shove > call > fold IMO

I still think that shoving over on the flop is the best move. We still have fold equity here and opp's stack is deep enough for this to be a c-bet. It is true that only hands that beat us will call but opp will bet with plenty of hands that he will fold.

As played, I think the best option is to try to check it down.

Cmon guys, It is a bubble and we are up against a chipleader, give him a respect and let it go.

Well, if we call preflop, we are hoping to flop an Ace or even flush ? We probably miss the flop and have to muck the hand after his cbet.
It is not time to try any fancy moves.....

We can fold this and still have good stack to profitably steal blinds from shortstacks.
