My feeling in DONs is that the cards are actually less important than having a read an opponent is likely to fold. Usually, I'm not re-stealing with a very wide range, but I know that regulars know they can't call with a wide range in these spots.
Wow ... that was a mouthful. What I mean is that most players realise they need a very strong hand to call a re-steal, maybe something like AA, KK, QQ or AK. If you are dropping low in chips a timely re-steal against these guys is good since they fold so often and the pot will likely be very big in relation to your stack.
You should really try to keep re-stealing to a minimum in these games as some players will adapt and attempt to trap you with AA or KK. Nothing seems to give these guys greater pleasure, even though pushing PF is usually clearly the best play.
Finally, ***Do not re-steal from opponents who clearly don't understand how ICM changes in these games i.e. the ones who snap you off with 66.****
